---------------
UI:
This mod adds High-Res User Interface textures in widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio.
Most menu screens have been altered to look better in widescreen resolution.
THIS MOD DOES NOT ADD ANY NEW UNITS SEEN ON THE OPERATION:FIRESTORM MODDB PAGE!!!
Zoom:
This mod also increases the zoom level, if you have already another zoom mod you can remove it. (or not to change the zoom to you prefered level).
This mod contains GameData.ini which has only changed the zoom level. If you have a lose file (not packed in .big) GameData.ini this will override this mod.
---------------
copy 0Widescreen.big into your Zero Hour Folder (it needs to be in the folder where all other .big and the .exe file are.)
This will replace the default UI textures with high-res/widescreen ones.
Another big will override this mod if its name is alphabetically before 0Widescreen. By renaming it to 00Whatever.big it should be loaded over this mod.
Changing resolution:
Create shortcut to generals.exe (inside your ZH folder) and add following commandline arguments: -xres 1920 -yres 1080
Right click the shortcut, go to properties and add it to target, it should look following: "C:\\Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour\generals.exe" -xres 1920 -yres 1080 -quickstart
!The path to the .exe has to be inside "" and the arguments outside!
-quickstart jumps intro video if you want that too.
You can also specify any resolution with -xres and -yres, but it should be 16:9 for this mod.
for laptops you might want use: 1280×720, or 1366×768
Other Recommended mods:
download Gentool's (http://www.gentool.net/) ControlbarHD mod (http://www.gentool.net/controlbar/). This .big files improve the quality of all button-images and UI and goes well with widescreen-mod.

Why there is a space between the buttons and the clock?
Operation Firestorm will use 18 buttons and this ui supports that, while default generals only uses 14 per commandset.
Usable in LAN?
Yes, from what I tested, it did not desync in LAN-Multiplayer. (One player having it and the other not)
Does this work with other mods?
Yes and No, depends on what the mod changes.
This mod contains following .ini:
GameData.ini - just for zoom, will give problems if a mod makes changes to gamedata.ini
ControlBarScheme.ini - This defines how the controlbar will look for each faction. If a mod changes which factions are available it will not work, or maybe partially
HandCreatedMappedImages.INI - definitions of UI-textures. If a mod changes things there it will be overriden.
Can this be changed to work with any mod?
Yes
Will you do it?
No, except I get permission from modder.
pWn3d (UI-coding)
Stalker (images)
xezon - from GenTool team (providing HD CommandBar textures)

That is high def...
Thank you.
will it work on ROTR & shockwave? :)
Not without modifications.
How about an Icon to go with the mod?! :)
yeah right make a Icon for the mod it's really bad that you didn't put any and it's will be so good if you do so!
Can you make this fix for Generals? Please :)
Thanks, It will be useful

1- what is the command Guideline?
2- Where do I put It ?
3- Does it work on Generals zero hour Contra Or Generals Zero Hour Original ?
I've installed shockwave mods, somehow this BIG file is working when Im playing usa. But it doesn't work on China superweapon or others... How to fix this?
Does the time actually show real System Time?
and is this Add-on actually an Add-on (internal .BIG) or a MOD (.EXE/Externally launched .BIG)?
System Time is accurate to real system time (well done).
Add-on is an actual Add-on (Internally placed with Program Files GenZH folder).
Since no one thought to ask!
Will this Mod effect online gameplay with mismatches. If so then the mod is useless and 1 would be better to just manually change it in Options.ini but there is still a problem when doing this manually if you adjust your audio or any other option later and save, your back to graphic defaults of 800x600 & 1024x768.
PS...
I know the Options.ini file can also be set to read-only.
Thanks,it work!

I edited this addon for vanilla generals (not zero hour) and its uploaded to moddb. You can see it on "generals moddb - files" section.
I cant find this sorry, does it still exist?
Best addon for Zero Hour of all time
