After one day of playing : I really love it. It keep the dark ambiance I love so much from the ambiance pack while giving sparse moments of relaxation with lonely guitar strings. I was afraid it would be a bit too uplifting, but it just give desolate far-west vibe and it really stick well with STALKER. I'm going to use it from now on... Althought I will merge Dead Air's soundtrack with it.

I hope you will add more tracks over time !

Just listened preview. I think you just make bullseye: for me the Zone is a type of frontier with that green grass around, not apocalypse. Vanilla music make me feel dissonance. Thank you. With Expedition mod it should be feel best

Hey @EnyoNomad unfortunately yes, most of the music tracks will get your content flagged for sure, especially on youtube, when it comes to Twitch I'm not sure but I guess the same DMCA bots are active on both websites.

Wonderful mod. Installed it just fine but unfortunately i can never hear any music from this mod, anytime! I changed time from Debug to see if it would trigger. Doesnt matter if Dynamic music is On or off, Music volume full or not. :(

Hey @BadShankOG I did the test on 2 fresh 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 install and it worked fine, do you have any other mods installed? Are you using Mod Organizer? Have you tried any other music mod and were they working fine?

Hi, Thanks for replying. Yes, infact i am making my own modpack using Mod Organiser. I have a few sound related mods installed like Soundscape overhaul, Quieter rain, EFT Footsteps, JSRS port, DeathSounds, Voiced actor expanded EN, Decreased Bush Hearing Distance and your mod.

Edit: From what i gather, pressing ESC is making my music volume 0. Checked it in the console that it becomes 0 after pressing ESC.

Funny thing is - When i click on 'Basic Light settings' button in settings menu, the music starts. But soon as i press Esc to go to Main Menu, music stops again and i have to repeat above process.

I'm not sure what could be causing this, do you happen to have a mod modifying ui_options.script or user.ltx? I know that both files contain the snd_volume_music command. You can also try to set user.ltx to read only.

I also remember that dynamic combat music could cause such issue but I doubt you're using it.

I can also recommend to install this mod, worth a try if nothing else works.

Found the issue!
I installed an Addon called Nitpicker's Modpack, which has a few smaller tweaks, it had a script called NahMusic, it disables music by executing snd_volume_music command every time a game is loaded/resumed and sets it to 0.

Removing the script solved the issue. Thanks for all inputs. :)

The addition of Winterblood - That I didn't know before - is really good. Especially in the evening, Arthur Vyncke - Uncertainty started to be drilled into my head.

I really love the melancholic vibe your mod add to the zone during the day.

hey random question not related to YOUR work but just overall modding music for stalker- I am a producer/music maker type person and I want to start messing around with adding tracks and attempting to figure out the dynamic soundtrack. do you have a direction to point me in? I downloaded the unpacker but it seemed to not unpack the tantalizing music/sound db0 files just the shaders and levels.

if you could help me out that'd be awesome! figure more music options for anomaly the better, helps world building.

Hey @Macros_for the dynamic music you need to edit the xrs_dyn_music.script

To easily get those type of files go to Anomaly\tools, use db_unpacker.bat, open up the newly created _unpacked folder and all the configs and scripts should be in there.

I think that in xrs_dyn_music.script if you replace those lines you'll be able to add your own tracks.

local combat_themes ={
{
"music\\combat\\theme1_part_1",
"music\\combat\\theme1_part_2",
"music\\combat\\theme1_part_3"
},
{
"music\\combat\\theme2_part_1",
"music\\combat\\theme2_part_2",
"music\\combat\\theme2_part_3"
},
{
"music\\combat\\theme3_part_1",
"music\\combat\\theme3_part_2",
"music\\combat\\theme3_part_3"
},
{
"music\\combat\\theme4_part_1",
"music\\combat\\theme4_part_2",
"music\\combat\\theme4_part_3"
}
}

If you want to edit the ambient music check the game_levels_music.ltx file.

I'm watching lore right now and thinking of loose genre types to associate with factions haha, so I will follow your lead down the rabbit hole! duty-march style, bandits punk, ecologists jazzy chill... anyway even if they never go anywhere it's been fun! also hard to resist everyone being phonk haha

aye man ive been playing with this soundtrack overhaul for a good minute now and of all the soundtracks this one is definitly my favorite. you really cherry picked the tracks and picked good ones. but what really gets me is it feels like theres almost a theme and something similar tying all the tracks together. Like its not just a bunch of moody ambient tracks thrown together. Thanks for putting this together

In my opinion your music is somehow way too calm and peaceful for a game that suppose to be depressingly horror. By watching your preview, the morning music sound like music to make you feel calm and less anxiety, like it sound way too peaceful for a survival horror game. But it doesn't mean that i don't like your ideal and music i have to say it. Your music is really awesome!

Hey @SirOrugu it is indeed a bit different from the usual S.T.A.L.K.E.R soudtrack, I personnaly have been playing this game for 15 years now and I needed something new, something out of the ordinary.

Ever since Anomaly first came out I've only been playing Ironman mode and I got tired of the constant dreadful ambient making me always be on the edge of my sit, and you summed it up perfectly for me, "the morning music sound like music to make you feel calm and less anxiety" when I spend the night outside hunting god knows what, thats exactly the feeling I want to get, when I'm on my way back home.

This mod sure isn't for everyone, but thats the beauty of modding, allowing us to share our vision on one of the many aspects of a game, and whether people like it or not the important part is that in the end we keep on sharing our ideas, opinions, or thoughts, because we all love the Zone. So thank you for your comment, I appreciate it.

Your addon is actually amazing. Good themed music for Anomaly, but i'm user of Ambient Music Pack you mentioned in description, can you make them compatibility to each other. I thought i can do it myself, but game_levels_music.ltx looks so differently from AMP addon. Need to sort them for every time of a day... I can't do it myself. If you not gonna do this, its fine. Anyway, i really appreciate your work and Winterblood music.

I've played for several hours and I can say with confidence that this music pack creates a great atmosphere. Fits perfectly into the atmosphere of the Zona. I'm already a little tired of the standard OSTs, and these musical motifs are just a breath of fresh air

Sorry about that, it appears that there was an error in the fomod pathing.

In the meantime you can manually install the patch first install renaissance without any compatibility patches then open up the archive and go to :

Renaissance Soundtrack Overhaul\Compatibility Patches\Extra Timeslots\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Unofficial Soundtrack Overhaul\

Copy game_levels_music.ltx and replace the one that you first installed.

The non-extra timeslot version crashes in Dark Valley:

FATAL ERROR

[error]Expression : <no expression>
[error]Function : CInifile::r_section
[error]File : Xr_ini.cpp
[error]Line : 1101
[error]Description : fatal error
[error]Arguments : Can't open section 'l04_darkvalley_musics'. Please attach [*.ini_log] file to your
bug report

Oddly enough it gave me this crash report initially:

FATAL ERROR

[error]Expression : <no expression>
[error]Function : CScriptEngine::lua_pcall_failed
[error]File : ..\xrServerEntities\script_engine.cpp
[error]Line : 204
[error]Description : fatal error
[error]Arguments : LUA error: ...les/stalker anomaly\gamedata\scripts\itms_manager.script:523: attempt to index field 'actor' (a nil value)

Thank fully I had a lightly edited version of the itms_manager script for personal use so I could easily delete the lines that was apparently causing the crash and then the crash report about the music appeared afterwards.

No idea how a music error causes issues with the itms_manager script but at least I got to the bottom of it because I was worried I bricked my Anomaly installation.
