iirc there is an addon that adds some of the same songs like the Heresey ones, that addon adds a ton of other songs and felt overwhelming to me so I decided to do my own addon but without adding too many songs, aside from that the other difference is that my addon plans to go into a much more minimalistic style without being too intrusive and adding to the ambience of the game.

This only ADDS stuff so it doesn't take anything away from the original ost right? Oh and it would be phenomenal to get the music from Cryo Chamber in there too - his work is amazing, but I understand that there might be some copyright involved.

Initially replaces vanilla music but there is a patch that allows you to have this and vanilla music together, I will update the description of the mod or the mod itself and do it in reverse.
I'll check that artist, thanks for the recommendation. Regarding copyright issues as far as I credit the artists and say the work it's not mine we can enjoy it thanks to the fair use copyright policy so there wouldn't be a problem as far as I know.

Got it, thank you. And thank you for the implementation - Dark Ambient fits Stalker perfectly!

Yup I've just read his YouTube page and it says;
"You are free to use our music for non-profit projects as long as you credit us properly and send us a message with a link to the project for approval, we are huge supporters of independent art." great news :)

Lustmord *eyeroll* so generic. And Cryo Chamber is a label, not an artist. Mainstream Dark Ambient, really. I was hoping to find a compilation of a good variety of artists that are less obvious.

Maybe my minimalist addons convince you more, the first volume has a good collection of Oöphoi and How to disappear completely
Moddb.com
There's also a few other music addons you can check. If you are interested in not so well known artist I was planning to add some of Zerofuturism's works for my next addon, I'm currently waiting for a response from the artist

Is it possible to make an ambient with binaural beats that would be alarming? )

I installed it with the patch to keep the vanilla songs too. But I continue to hear the vanilla songs only and not the new ones... What am I missing?

Theoretically it should work but who knows if I ****** something up. Let me test it myself, I'll tell you if I update it.
Edit: Just checked it, works correctly, make sure you install first the main file and then the patch. If you have it correctly installed then it may be that you are not hearing the songs because their volume is lower than the vanilla ones, I can update it with a higher volume version if you want me to

Thank you for your kind reply. And yes, maybe you are right about the volume... if you could reupload them a little louder would be appreciated.
Are all the songs played randomly or with some criteria? eg. day/night/level?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes

Isthar - - 286 comments

Sure no problem, right now I'm on my phone I will reupload it in a few hours when I'm home, I'll replay to your comment again when it's done.
The songs are played with the next criteria, night/day cicle meaning some only play at night and some only play at day, for north levels meaning some only play in Prypiat, outskirts, and so on and some only play in Underground levels, like the labs and Jupiter Underground. It's not possible to make songs sound for a single level, this means, for example, that all Underground levels play the same songs randomly, not a single song for a single map.
Hope I clarified your doubts, I'll reupload it later today, thank you for your patience ^-^

Ok, it works! And it's crazy cool, I give your addon 10/10, music choice is perfect and it adds so much atmosphere.

But I think your tracks are still a little too less loud compared to the vanilla ones, so volume doesn't match. I keep music volume to 0.4 but to match the same volume of your tracks with vanilla ones I should set to 1, but then vanilla tracks are too loud.

Sorry for any of the trouble caused, I have a very sensitive hearing and sometimes it's hard for me to determine which volume is the correct. Added a new file with even higher volume, thanks for all the reports and for testing each release. Tell me how this one goes for you, much love

Great job with the music bro, it's pretty awesome. I've used this combined with your other packs for a few weeks now and it's great.

I do have a request though, please put changelogs in description when you update because I'm not sure what changed between updates and don't want to download ~200mbs every time lol

Glad to know that! and sure, already added, I didn't change any song or anything important, just added a few patches for higher volume versions, but not for the patches that merge my other addons since no one has complained about the volume in those yet. Much love.

Ah I see, that sucks, for the next edition I was planning to use non copyrighted songs and making some music myself, but is taking quite some time since I have to learn how to do everything from scratch. Hopefully if I end up releasing something it will have a similar level of quality like this one.
