This Addon is a complete overhaul of 'Call of Chernobyl'. It tries to reach for the good old 'Shadow of Chernobyl' atmosphere. Don't expect things like new weapons or HD models. 'Memories of Chernobyl' aims at fans of the vanilla-ish stalker atmosphere.
The addon is not yet completely finished.

Installation:
Extract all folders from the archive to your Call of Chernobyl directory.
I don't remember much from SoC but i really enjoy this mod !
But i got some questions :
What are you going to do with the mechanics ? I mean bringing them the toolkits is pretty useless now
Where do you find the special weapons ? Will they spawn in fixed or Non-fixed locations ? Will the AI carry special weapons ?
You said there would be not HD models to look like good old SOC.
Even SOC got mods to upgrade textures while keepin the atmosphere.
As long as you keep the original style, hd textures are good things.
No new weapons, I agree.
I believe that anything that upgrade graphics in a wide sense (sky, weather, lighting,weapons, nature, animation, etc.) is always good.
But you should be given the right to choose.
So a 1st pack with only tweaking to get close to SOC should be a base.
Then maybe some other pack with better graphics.
Or at least patches to already existing graphics overhaul.
Not at the moment. The upgrade system is a fine thing but it doesn't fit with the current ballistics. It's possible that I create an optional plugin for a weapon upgrade system with modified ballistics in the future but at the moment I would like to stick to SoC gameplay.
But there are 38 unique weapons (ported from Build 2571, 2588, Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky) now. Some of them with abilities that you can't reach with the original upgrade system.
So I have tested your mod out. I have found sveral issues 1/ UI is screwed up a bit. 2/ weapons positions make arms clip thru the camera when aiming down sights. 3/ sun is no longer visible in the skybox even tho it does shine. 4/ some restored textures of walls and floors collide with shared textures from CS and COP, this is partially bug on CoC's side - I have ran in to other issues before this mod, exactly due to that sharing.
I really like how this mod brings back the old weather system. The image has depth now. With landscape blending nicely in to the skybox, with illusion of distant fog. If there wasn't that missing sun I would keep using this mod. I hope that in the future you will be able to restore the sun (adn moon) and perhaps create few basic packages.
the knife and detector slots were your idea or they can be found in another addon?really looking for that and havent been able to find an addon for separate slots since im using 2 detectors and several knifes
Just a suggestion to the addon's author, you could try to get the square minimap from coc mod Legend Returns 0.9.2 and credit them. From what I know its an engine tweak and some custom ui configs like the square crosshair from soc builds, so it should't be that hard to add.
1. For some reason, this mod has an incredibly botched economy. No idea why everything is priced so high and everything sells for so little.
2. Weapon aim sway. This isn't in SoC, and it is simply a detriment to combat.
3. This is more of a nitpick, as this was in SoC, but personally I hate that stashes can only be looted if they are marked on the map. Destroys the idea of going out and exploring which is a big part of the Call of Chernobyl mod. Again, it's not a horrific problem, just a personal nitpick.
But I think overall this really does capture the SoC feel and atmosphere. So I hope this gets more refined and improved as time goes on.

In my opinion, this is an UPGRADE. Loved the shading and lighting of original SoC. Everything in CoP is too bright for this type of atmosphere.

if they stay close to SOC rules, the special weapons will be found during quests, or as rewards, or on special NPCs.

Hey, does this mod have bullet sponginess? because if I'm gonna play this, I'm gonna do it with vanilla guns.
Should be similar to R6, but weapons are extremely inaccurate.
