Food degradation system for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Anomaly 1.5.1/1.5.2.
This mod adds a food degradation system. Now all food in the game will have its own condition scale and when eating food with a low condition, your character can get food poisoning, which must be treated with medicines. Otherwise, you will have negative effects in the form of reduced health and stamina, weight carry, and an increased rate of sleepiness and thirst. You can see all the detailed information on the new disease screen (by default, the NUMPAD6 key) Also in the MCM menu of the mod there are many settings that you can customize for yourself.
This mod should be compatible with any other mod because it doesn't affect the base files.
The archive with the mod also contains patches for mods:
If you do not see any option in the settings, then try updating the MCM menu!
If you want to add other food or medicines to your worklists, or just want to change the values of already added items, then you can see examples of how to do it in "importer.ltx", which are located in the "gamedata\configs\items\settings\food_degradation".
Copy the folder "gamedata" from the archive, which is located in "Food Degradation v2.0" to the folder with the game.
If you don't want to play with this mod, then before uninstalling it, you need to select the "Reset Mod" option during the game in the MCM menu.
This is necessary in order to clear the save from numerous entries from this mod!
You can also use this option if you want to reset all saved data about all food found while playing with this mod. Just don't forget to create a new save and reload him!

great this will make eating more realistic. I don't understand why a bar of chocolate can be eaten for a long time.
To be fair, it's hard to get chocolate to spoil...
I see someone's not familiar with bars of chocolate. Those things are so full of sugar and preservatives that if they're just chocolate like say, a Hershey's Bar, they can last up to two years when kept at room temperature or colder if unwrapped. If opened and kept in a fridge or similarly cold storage, it drops to 'just' one year.The can of baked beans shown in the gif can last for up to 3-5 years. A bag of mixed nuts will be good for about a year, and given that the best food is all imported with at most maybe a week before being bought, it stands to reason that the food wouldn't degrade so horribly quick.
I like where this is going, deepening of Anomaly's survival aspects is definitely always a welcome addition. Will try it out (just to torture my character some more, cause suffering through toxic rain, toxic air and freezing to death is obviously not enough heh).
I am aware that this is a wip addon and has no claim to be "realistic" but just a quick "IRL-nag" (from a whitecoat, can't help it):
Etperazine (or any similar drug, for that matter) would no the drug of choice you'd want to take to support your body in eliminating such infection/poisoning, Tetanus is solely a woundborne disease (unless you dig chewing on those tasty razorlike metal can rims or cheerfully eating from that rusty bloodied NRT-40 Scout Knife you stuck into some Spetznaz' face yesterday) and glucose IV could actually make things worse (bacteria love sugar). Antibiotics are hit and miss (more miss) in this but actually potable water (speak: Elimination and rehydration) is the way to go.
One could replace the aforementioned with Diclofenac and Metamizole instead, as they can be an adjunct in reducing the severity of symptoms (e.g. fever and pain) associated with certain foodborne diseases but their potency is limited. IMO, both could use more practicable application since they are rarely used anyway for their intended purposes in vanilla-Anomaly.
Again, just my two cents.

What would be neat regarding this (also for other addons, such as ***' blood loss system) would be actual saline or Ringer solution infusion systems (like in Dayz) but I know this involves creating new models, textures, sounds, config files etc. (can't model for **** but if anyone wanna do that I'd gladly help).

Update fixed crash, thanks! But I started losing health and didn’t realize till I passed out…I’m assuming from poisoning but no indication of such. Can you implement an indicator that we at\re poisoned ? Or am Imissing something?

Excelent! I was looking for food degradation for long time, but sadly only closest thing is Arszi's Rotten Meat which only affect raw and cooked meat. Now only thing I wish for is it to be compatible with Food Poisoning ( Github.com ) or even better if both addons got merged into one. Cheer to your work!
Hmm, in this mod, the mechanics of poisoning are very similar. Perhaps in the future I will abandon my toxin system and my mod will require this mod to be installed. But I will need to contact the author of this mod and ask for permission to use his work.
Technically you don´t even need permission if you don´t upload the whole mod again, if you just change some files and have the other mod as dependency you automatically direct traffic to the other mod.
I like your more straight-forward approach, the other one has some aspects I´m not the biggest fan of.
Well, it may be possible to get by with a simple replacement of the files, but I am not at home now and cannot view the contents of the files from this mod. I'm just afraid that adapting this mod will require a lot of technical changes.

you can move those food_degradation fields from mod_... ltx into your script file in global table and check that field from that place, that would remove dltx dependency or any ltx dependency

Shouldn't canned goods last longer because they are preserved?
I noticed that even just smell bad will decrease my hunger and add level of toxins that extremely damaging
I suggest that smell bad conditions should have no damage to satiety, only toxins damage
Smells bad foods harms satiety only if the food is low in calories. Canned food lasts almost the longest, except for chocolate bars. The fact that canned food spoils in 3-4 days is just a game convention, because there is a lot of imported food in the vanilla Anomaly and it is not difficult to find it. Of course, can make food degrate just like in real life, but then the meaning of this mod will be completely lost.
I see. Im using realistic bodily needs addon and it lowers calories receive for some food to be more realistic and it make them unviable because they just reduce satiety more when smells bad condition
Anyway, the degradation rate will be worked out in more detail in the future and thanks for the feedback!
