We have come to it at last, the great release of our mod!
4 years have passed since the last battle was upon them. In those 4 years the Elves secretly prepared for the war that was to come, training their best units, bolstering their defenses and calling upon the Valar to withstand the incoming onslaught. Now, as the drums of war sound in the distance, the Elves must bolster their resolve once again, for they must not let for they must not let the enemy break through, they must defend... The Last Haven, or all shall be lost.
After 4 years of absence, the Ridder Clan Mod team (which has since the last release been reduced to two actual team members, hence the lack of updates and all that) proudly presents The Last Haven, a mod which will expand Battle for Middle Earth 2 unlike any other mods before it. This release will specifically concentrate on the Elven faction whilst keeping most of the things the official game added.
Mod Highlights :
- The High-Elves have risen to defend Middle Earth!
The Elven faction has been completely overhauled, featuring new units, new building, new heroes and even a new Fortress , you'll have to see it for yourself.
- What shall we choose?
The Last Haven introduces a new system, called the Vote System which at the beginning of any battle allows you to choose between your gameplay style, the starting resources or the unit and building production rate. Do note that once you've chosen and committed your options you cannot change them.
- History repeats itself : Battle For Middle Earth Mode
As part of that voting system there is an option which allows you to choose between Battle For Middle Earth I or II play style. Choosing Battle For Middle Earth I allows you to play it exactly as in the original Battle For Middle Earth game.
- Rise against the enemy with your own Hero!
With the new and improved Create-A-Character System you can create your own Elven hero. Use your imagination to create not only a Hero for the Elves or Men, but a Champion for the Free Peoples of Middle Earth.

FAQ:
-Do I need a previous release to update this release?
*No, this release contains an updater which updates the mod without needing to patch the mod manually.
-Do I install the mod over the original BFME2 files?
*The game launches as a separate expansion, similar to how ROTWK launches so you can install the mod anywhere you want. (But really, please don't install it in the same folder as either game... or anywhere else that has important data. Because that data gets deleted upon the start of the setup.)
-My game crashes on startup?
*Make sure you have deleted the old Create-a-Hero data from in your rc mod files in your application data (%appdata%). They are located in the save folder.
-Where is the voting system?
*The voting system is currently only implemented on the maps with (VS) in front of them, we are working on also putting it into the rest of the maps.
-This mod contains elements/units/powers from the Hobbit movies?
*In the current release there is no content from The Hobbit movies, but we plan on doing that in the future.
-Does this release contain changes to the original factions?
*No this mod does not change the vanilla factions yet. We will, however, do that in the future.
-Does this mod run on BFME2?
*Yes
-What factions will this release contain?
*The release contains High-Elves, Gondor, Mordor, Isengard.
-What races and classes will you have for the new CaC?
*Female Human and High-Elf Warrior as races. The classes depends on the races.
-Are the factions in this mod balanced?
*We have not fully balanced the factions in the mod. We will in upcoming updates.
We urge you to follow us on our Facebook page for more social events made specially for fans!
Known Installation issues:
*Please make sure your launcher is CLOSED when updating, otherwise this can prevent it from being updated!!!
*If the launcher did not update to a version with a button on it, download it from 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/baokmvx0065srla/RC Mod Launcher.exe?dl=0 ' and copy it to where the launcher is.
*You may need to copy Game2.dat from your BFME 2 installation place to the game folder in the RC Mod installation directory! (if you download the patch/mod after this is posted it should not be a problem)
*If you wish to run the singleplayer (without needing to mount the RC Mod cd, or use the RotWK cd) please download the singleplayer files from here: 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/1d5fi6dzabfu1rf/RCMod - Singleplayer.zip?dl=0' These can be put into the game folder in the installation directory, and run manually to play singleplayer.
Known issues:
*No BFME1 AI
*Elrohir,Elladan,Cirdan,Galdor were removed due to some bugs
*No Lore-master powers
*Some High-Fortress upgrades do nothing
*High-Elven Heroes kept their original portraits
*BFME1 mode does not contain camps
Expect these bugs to be resolved in the following days/weeks. We advise not saving games during this period otherwise they might not work afterwards.
As this our release for almost 4 years and many things have changed so we encourage people to re-rate our mod after they tried it!
There are still many things to do so we appreciate any feedback from you guys! Here, on Revora, or even personal PM, we are looking forward to making this mod even better.
Happy Playing!
P.S: Today (the 24th) is also Valaquenta10’s birthday!

HAAAAPPPPPPYYYY BBBIIIIRRRRTTTHHH DDDDDAAAAYYYYYY VVVVVAAAAALLLLLL..... !!!!!!!!!
Did i do something wrong ? Why are my only options elven man or elven woman, and the only abilities are human warrior abilities form rotwk ?
When I press launch game in the launcher, the game starts, that loading picture in the begining and then it just stops loading and that's it. No error, nothing. What could the problem be? I tried downloading that singleplayer files but it doesn't help.
Did you check if game2.dat is in the game directory?
If not, copy it from your bfme 2 install location to the game folder of the mod :)
doesn't work for me
Well then Lotr, what are your exact steps that you took?
Also Branchez, maybe see if running the V2.0 fixer might actually help solve the problem, not entirely sure it would help though, but its worth a shot :P
Copying the game2.dat helped. But I thought I didn't need to do that. Doesn't matter, what matters is that it works :) Ty and good job on the mod. Keep up the good work :D
i installed the mod then i installed singlplayer copied the game dat2 folder and then black screen when i launch
Now that i think of it, go to %appdata% (your application data), the "My Battle for Middle-earth(tm) II - RC Mod Files", look for options.ini, and delete it :P See if that helps :)
Ok wait don't delete it, rather clear its contents :P
nope did not work
Ok ya know what, last resort...
Do you have Skype? Maybe we can do some sort of remote assistance so I can check on your computer what is possibly missing or whatever, because it seems you are not the only one with this problem...
id prefer just pming and no i do not have skype i sent you a pm. and i ordered rotwk so i can just wait but i would prefer to play the mod as soon as i can.
Someone who doesn't have skype acc. It is free you know
where do you download
Moddb.com
Aye its as simple as that :P
Or look on revora for the link that we uploaded ourselves, but both versions should be the same :P

fixed the Game.dat2 file problem, but now it says I need to insert the correct DVD-ROM (I have the collector's edition game disk so idk what it's asking me about).
As the launcher should state, rotwk cd, or the rc mod cd, not sure if the collectors edition one should work. Downloading the single-player exe as mentioned above is an easy way of playing the mod if you want to :)
Congrats on the release guys.
Thanks, took us a while nd a lot of effort, but totally worth it :)
hey man awesome mod, love the tweaks to the Elven faction, but there's still plenty of bugs, are these expected to be smoothed out some time soon?
Yes, we are working on them.
Help i have pink textures in CAH some pics ,and the heroes are invisible
can someone help me
Where did ya install the mod? Nd the old cahs are not compatible with this version
Here's the location
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ridder Clan\The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle-Earth II - RC Mod\game
Looks fine, and these pink textures dont occur in teh original game? because this usually indicates that your asset.dat is incorrect or some other part got corrupted...
So I was able to get the directory right according to the creator of this mod, but the installation doesn't seem to start. I'll download the installer and let it be installed in this directory "C:\Program Files(x86)\Ridder Clan\The Lord of The Rings, The Battle for Middle-Earth II - RC Mod" and I hit install. The text above the blank bar changes to "Downloading from Online Database..." and it just sits there and nothing happens. Again I was told the directory was fine, and it seems it's fine for others but the installation just doesn't start. Is it just taking a while or is something wrong?
Can anyone help me out with this?
I have the same thing
It seems unlikely to me, but possibly the download server has gotten overloaded...
I'll look into this, can any of you two send me the log file generated by the installer?
I've done several things within the past week and a half trying to fix it but so far nothing has worked. I hate to be sort of a burden by asking this but where can I find the log file? As far as I know, once the download "starts" there is a ridder clan folder which remains completely empty if that has any significance. This is really the only issue that has been reocuring over the entire time of downloading the mod.
Congratulations my friends =)
Thanks! :D
Did i do something wrong ? Why are my only options elven man or elven woman, and the only abilities are human warrior abilities form rotwk ?
No currently that's whats in the release, we wanted to get stuff out there, so it's far from the final idea :)
Does it have mirkwood soldiers?
No
I've mounted RCcd with Daemon Tools, but it ask me to insert the correct DVD-ROM. So i tried to start the game from RC single player, but it appeared a black screen...someone help?
