This image was taken while working inside of 3dsMax, so that is the explanation for the ship looking "red" in color.

While we prefect the rigging, damage particles, damage meshes, and lights, we are developing these resources and the code so that it may be easily applied to other ships much more quickly.

Also on our update list, Warb Null has created a new Hutt Dreadnaught which we will show sometime later in the week, Exotic Tofu has created 3 more Chiss ships which should finalize the Chiss Fleet, Warb is working on another something special and nasty for the Hutts, and Kharcov has a new monster cooking in the oven...

We thank you and appreciate your support in these lull times as we continue to develop the mod on the backend. We are making great breakthroughs in coding and particle developments, more to be shown soon :)

Judging by that a lot of faction's have the fleet they use almost finalized. I take it the next steps would be coding and perhaps balancing.

If I may ask what comes after those presumptions?

It is a bit more complicated, but here is the typical process:

Model Design
Rigging of hardpoints
Rigging of damage particles
Rigging of damage meshes
Texture Design
Window Light Design
Damage Mesh Design
Damage Particle Design
Shadow and Collision Mesh
Death Clone Animation
Coding Ship into the game
Coding special ablitities
Balance coding (ship speed, health, damage power, accuracy)

But in addition to just doing all that, we are redesigning how the game handles hardpoints, how special abilities work and other things, so everything is like a giant web, and while we are pushing production strong in some areas, suddenly we need to pause and address issues that pop up somewhere else and are still connected.

So, while it may appear like it is taking a long time to create 1 ship, we are actually creating 50 other things at the same time, and changing how the entire game operates.

This WILL NOT be like any other mod, or like original EAW. When we are finished, the game will work a lot differently, for as always, you will be pleasantly surprised ;)

Yes, but we have something a little more special planned than just painting a star destroyer red... for the ship was much more than just that and deserves proper justice.

Does the Venture get the Super Laser? If so, AWESOMENESSNESS! If not, I am sure it will still earn an awesome.

This makes me think of staring at the beautifull colors of the sunset on a midsummer evening.

There's so much work on your project. It's difficult to apreciate it from an outer perspective, but with posts like this I realize about the huge amount of work behind each single model. Thank you guys to share with all of us your hard work and project. Keep this work up.

I like the update and it sounds very interesting. I like models rigged with a lot of hard points because it is a lot more realistic. Nice lights on the model by the way it helps give a sense of how big this ship is.

To give you an idea of size and perspective:

The MC85 is 2x as long as a Star Destroyer/MC80

A Star Destroyer is 1200 m long, 4x the length of a Nebulon B (300 m)

Every single little bump on the MC85 is a gun blister. Every single gunblister is a firing point for a light laser weapon.

That should give you a little bit of perspective on the awesome firepower this ship wields as it carries the title of Battleship for the Mon Cals, while also being aware that the Blue Diver, Mediator, and Viscount are even larger yet...

We are striving our best for realism, and are pushing the game to the limits while making it playable for as many as possible.

Isn't a imperial star destroyer 1600m long?
1200m sounds more like a venator.

Thank you for the correction, yes, ImpStar2 is 1600 m, but the MC80 is 1200 m.

The MC85 is actually 2x the MC80, but using the star destroyer as a reference point is easier for people to visualize.

Is this the final scaling:

Moddb.com

If this ship is 2.4 km then the mediator looks around 4 km and the Viscount is around 8 km. Is the Executor going to be 19 km or will you scale it down? It would just seem a Viscount wouldn't be an equal to Executor if it was only 42% of the length.

that is the final scaling, yes

the Viscount is substantially shorter than the Executor, but it is also 4 times taller in height.

So Executor will be 19 km :) The Viscount is even fatter than I thought. I guess if it was any longer then the height and volume might look pretty ridiculous. When you get all the dreadnought scale ships finished you should definitely make a composite of them like you did for the Mon Cal and Corellian ships.

It's beautiful. I can see better the work you did on the model! It must have taken you hours of work. How much time on it?

Description

Just a quick update to the MC85

We are using this ship as a testing ground for developing a lot of new ideas. The ship is 2x the length of a Star Destroyer, so its large size allows for testing of many new concepts we are introducing to the game.

YVaW will play a lot differently from normal EAW, for we are developing many new ideas never before seen in this community. The MC85 features 236 hardpoints, but only about 60 will be targetable, the rest being linked to to hull strength so that the ship will allow for both specific weapon targeting and broad assault across the entire hull, which will provide much more visually exciting cinematic battles. This new hardpoint system is being adopted by all ships. For it never felt realistic when an entire fleet focused its firepower all on one hardpoint at a time.

We have a lot in development, we are always working. We are committed to developing a solid product, free of continuous patches and updates. We thank you for your continued support.
