The Xenoforce Reborn mod takes the classic Xenoforce mod from CNC Generals and re-invisions it on the CNC3 engine with new units and new designs. The new armies that are currently scheduled to be in the mod are the Earth Federation, ZEON, the Invid, and the Earth Robotech Defense Force. We also have heavily modified the original CNC3 armies, giving the GDI, NOD, and Scrin a much more dynamic gameplay experience. This mod is NOT FOR PROFIT and NON-commercial based.

Yea, I always liked the Rex model. Doug and I have had a very strict policy when it came to adding mecha back into GDI. However now that we've gone into the realm of "What would GDI have to use in Space" we had 2 choices. We could say they use Firehawks and Orcas that have been modified to space use or look back at their Mecha designs.

Then Doug suggested we use something based off of the Metal Gear series or Battlefield 2142 series and since I've always liked Metal Gear Rex, well, this is what we came up with. It still looks GDI to me, it's not a Mecha like Gundam at all, and with the way it moves it's easy to see how it would function as both a mobile fighter in space and as a stationary weapons platform on the ground.

I hope you can fix the way it fires it's weapons. Metal Gear Rex was designed to be an ICB unit, and not a front line attacker. Basically what I am saying is, is that you need to fix it so that the cannons aim properly in the direction it fires it's projectiles.

First, this isn't rex, this is a mobile assault gear unit that we designed based off the design of rex. This is meant to be a front line unit not a long range nuke deployment system. Also I'm sorry if I'm taking offense to what you just wrote Val but the weapons on the Armored Gear do aim correctly in the proper direction. Its true I'm having issues getting the pitch to work correctly but they do aim in their proper direction. So basically what I'm saying is I don't get your point. They aim in the direction the projectiles are going, you can see that in the pic.

I mean it's based off of Rex, I've said that in each post that I posted up as well as what it's meant for. I'm confused why your saying what you are about the weapons. Were you actually expecting these guys to be shooting off nukes?

Nukes? No. The guns are pointing upwards, the projectiles are leaving the barrels at an angle when they should be leaving straight. And that is because the model doesn't have adjustable aiming with the cannons. What I am saying is it looks goofy when projectiles are leaving the gun barrels at a 150 degree angle when it should be a 180.

I admit I want these guns to aim down. The model is actually designed with pitch points on them. Why the code isnt pitching the guns down when firing down I am not sure. I am just happy I got the effects to leave the ends of the barrels at the moment as when I started the projectiles were leaving the feet for some reason. Keep on mind these are prototype designs, we are still messing with the models. What you see here you probably won't be playing with as they look right now.

All I am saying Val is when you say I need to fix the gun so it aims down when firing at a lower unit I know this and am working on it. What you see in the pic as the guns pointing up isn't, its the recoil pushing in the wrong direction and making the barrel move up and not back.

Description

The SDI Armored Rail Gear is a very straight forward unit. Unlike the Assault Gear which has 3 different weapons attached to it, assault cannons / strike missiles / devastation cannon, the Rail Gear has 2 heavy rail cannons and the devastation cannon.

The Assault Gear's design is for dealing with smaller units, like Titan Tanks / Predator Tanks / RGM 79's / RGC 80's, units with a total tear lvl of 3 or less. It fires fast at units and is designed to take out swarms but can't really punish heavier targets (unless the heavy unit is on the ground and gets blasted by the Devastation Cannon). The Rail Gear is the opposite, it's heavy rail cannons have greater range on them so the unit doesn't have to get as close, and it's cannons can tear anything apart rather quickly. However there is a much greater delay between shots with the Rail cannons so there is an opportunity for quicker, weaker units to move in and swarm it. Still, if you need to kill that one massive unit asap this is what you go with.
