War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!

Great were the Firebeards that hailed from the great mansions of Nogrod, or Tumunzahar, as it was called in the tongue of the Naugrim. Close, the Firebeards were to the Broadbeams of Belegost related, and those folk were great in strength of arms and skill in the forging of fine items, for war and for peace. Easily the Firebeards are distinguishable as their beards are bright red, like the flames of their great forges.

The Guards of Tumunzahar are among the most skilled in combat of this folk, being rivalled by few save the Nogrod Champions and as such, it is their duty to defend to the last breath the mansions and forges of the Firebeards of Nogrod and the King of Nogrod. In the finest mail the skilled craftsmen of the Nogrod are able to fashion these Guards are clad, the quality of these mail hauberks rivalling and surpassing even those of Noldorin make. Heavy the strokes of their broad blades are, rending apart bone and marrow, steel and mail alike. Upon their shields they bear the device of their city: the Hammer and Anvil of Nogrod. Trusting in the quality of their mail and shields and prowess with the blade, these guards bear seldom helmets upon their red-haired heads as per this manner they are from afar descried upon the battlefield, the mere flash of their red hair striking fear into almost all but the least craven orcs.

Till the death these warriors shall fight in the name of their folk and their King, for as all Dwarves, they are stout beyond measure.
