Tiberian Sun Rising is a total conversion for Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars! Tiberian Sun Rising brings back GDI and Nod battling it out during the Second Tiberium War, retelling Tiberian Sun as never before. This isn't just a remake of the hit title C&C Tiberian Sun. It is a mod making Tiberian Sun as it should have been originally so expecting lots of new fun and originality while sticking to the feel Tiberian Sun had. Taking the mindset that this is the first time Tiberian Sun is being made and using the original game as a design concept. This mod will also include the additions made in Firestorm so it is a remake of Tiberian Sun and Firestorm as one to what they should have been.New abilities and units will appear in Tiberian Sun Rising as well as new kind of gameplay altogether.
GDI spies working within Hassan's forces have obtained designs for a new Cyborg platform. The Cyborg Commando, the organic components are placed within a completely robotic body that is stronger than the standard Cyborg's we've been fighting in the field. Armed with what looks like some kind of Plasma weaponry and a Flame Thrower this Cyborg Commando is extremely dangerous. Keep your eyes out for it in the field Commander and do not take it lightly. I'll pass the compliments to Josh :) we loved the design too but good to hear other people like it too ;). Yeah, we were going for menacing, looking a bit heavier armoured and making that Plasma/Proton Cannon a big honking gun of destruction. The flamethrower addition was inspired by Tiberian Suns code (Westwood had at one stage given the Cyborg Commando both a Flame Thrower and Plasma/Proton Cannon). Assume it was removed due to balancing. C&C3;'s balancing systems are a lot more sophisticated than Tiberian Suns we think we can make it work. So far in testing, it's been pretty cool actually.
Does it still launch a plasma ball or the shot is instant like in Twisted Insurrection?
At the moment it fires pretty fast but I'm going to be changing it so its lobbed and a bit slower as it is a pretty big ball of plasma and its a little more intimidating that way, also gives very fast units a chance against the Cyborg Commandos Plasma.

We do actually and I think you'll all be very pleased with it we had an excellent character artist Arthur put it together the texture isn't quite finished and animation work isn't finished yet either but in-game shots of him are coming in a future update :).

Oh this is just the concept art :) but the 3D model based on this Concept turned out even better :D. We really look forward to showing this one off in-game for you. His animations need finishing first though.

Looks great. The design is somewhat reminiscent of the Doom 4 Hell Knight IMHO, especially the head. Very cool.
The original TS CC had this inhumanly tall look to it, which I liked, but as long as this one is sufficiently taller than standard infantry I'm happy. :)
P.S.: I *love* that the digitigrade legs were kept in this design. That's pretty much the only thing that irks me about the Cyborg Commando in Tiberium Essence.
Thanks :) and just so you know the standard Cyborgs are taller than regular infantry and the Cyborg Commando is taller then regular Cyborgs. So yes he's pretty big. Smaller than a GDI Wolverine thou.
Yeah keeping the legs that way I was happy to, we decided to do it because the Cyborgs move very differently and need new animations anyway so we figured we do a new skeleton as well for the Cyborg Commando. It has made him quite time-consuming but well worth it for such an iconic unit for Nod.

Looks really cool! Very sleek and imposing, characteristic of a Nod cyborg. I love that it sort of has a look subtly reminiscent of ED 209.

Looking at the original art for the Cyborg Commando from TS and this I've always wondered what the scorpion tail was in the original artwork that hung over the head and it looks like a targeting laser. What is the tail thing ranging over its head in both versions (in the original TS and yours?)
Looks cool but I still think the original TS model is better. Preferred the grittier and skinnier look with some visible human parts. This looks like its from Kane's Wrath. Still a cool looking concept, and the rest of the mod looks sweet, can't wait to play it.
The comment dated May 28 from "Guest" is an interesting one. I've wondered what that tail thing is too that hangs over the head, merely ornamentation for the Brotherhood of Nod's symbology (looking at the original) I think. Yours looks like a laser-rangefinder or sensor node of some sort. Its a vast improvement over the old one. But Kane7870 does have a point. I wouldn't expect that kind of heavy armor until Tiberium Wars. I'm torn between this and the orignal. My adivce as an artist myself is to give it a more skeletal look in the torso regions, and lower legs, give the thighs, pelvis, pectoral and head the most armor and then you've nailed it.
I wish you guys had something playable, it looks like you almost got everything!
