Thrawn's Revenge is a large-scale mod for Empire at War: Forces of Corruption. It includes the events of the Galactic Civil War after Palpatine's death at Endor, up until the signing of the Pellaeon-Gavrisom treaty. If you own the Steam version of EaW, you will have to complete extra steps to run the mod after installation. Please see the manual for these steps.

Report RSS Looking for Voice Actors

We've always know that one of the areas where Tr was most lacking was in the voiceover department, partially because we've never really had the additional resources necessary to focus on getting too much done in that area. Recently, we've added Wheyloffle on board as a sound designer for the mod, and while it will be a lengthy process, the goal is to get as many units and heroes as possible with their own voiceovers, across all of our projects

To this end, we have recently started accepting submissions for voice actors for 2.2. For those interested in contributing, Wheyloffle has written up a submission guide.

Hello everyone!

We are looking for people willing to perform voice overs (VO) for a large number of space units and hero units. These will initially be for Imperial Civil War's upcoming 2.2 release (March 29th!! :0), but there should be no reason that accepted contributors won't see their work in action in any of our other Star Wars mods.

Audio submissions are required to be:

  • Around 10-20 seconds long
  • In a .wav, .mp3, or .ogg format
  • In one file, one email per person
  • Entered by Saturday, March 10th. Anything later will not be reviewed for 2.2.

If you're interested, please email an audio snippet (that follows the rules) to wheyloffle.sound@gmail.com. Every entry within the boundaries of the rules will be reviewed.

Factors that will improve your chances of being accepted:

  • A decent mic quality (no popping and minimal background noise). This is a big plus.
  • You're not too quiet, but not too loud that you blow out your mic either lol
  • No mic popping
  • Good accents! From American to French, any and all are enjoyable!
  • No mic popping
  • No mic popping

Things to keep in mind:

  • You will not be able to pick who you voice. Still, dress (or voice act) for the job you want!
  • Your submission should act as a short demo of what you got. Do not expect it to be used anywhere apart from selection.
  • Mic quality should be a higher priority than your ability to perform accents or voices, but if you can, show off anything you can do!
  • Selection will not be given until after the submission due date.
  • If you've got friends that are into voicework, Star Wars, and/or our modwork, be sure to tell them to send us something too!
  • If you don't know what to say in your submission, why not try your hand at lines you would hear in-game?
  • Feel free to show off multiple different voices or accents you are confident with; you don't have to show off only one.
  • Again, only send one file, one email to the provided address. You've only got one shot, so do your best!

If you're picked, you will be promptly notified by email AND be told who you'll be voicing along with some directions by March 17th at the latest.

If you are selected, you will be expected to submit your final lines as soon as you can and may be asked to redo certain lines.

Thank you all, and good luck! All submissions will be greatly appreciated! ;D

Perhaps some example scripts could be supplied for those interested?

For the people who don't want to think of something to say, as the post says, they can just re-record lines from the base game. The point is just to get an idea of what their voice range and mic quality is, what they're actually saying isn't really the important part.

Could you give more specific accent examples? I can do a number, some are fair at best, but I could practice them up a bit.

If you're uncomfortable thinking of new lines, you can re-record lines from the base game.

I'm not exactly sure what to record in the audio snippet we're to email to you, and I feel that a lot of the others whom are interested in this feel the same way. Am I supposed to just record myself saying basic unit dialogue like "Cruiser reporting", or "Mon Calamari cruiser ready" with a variety of accents?

Basically yes, if you're uncomfortable thinking of new lines, you can re-record lines from the base game.

No! I am too late. Sorry guys. Love the work you have been doing with your mocs. If you need any more voice actors, I will gladly send a submission :) I have played a lot of different SW characters over the years in Dungeons and Dragons and I have been complimented for my impressions. Maybe I can send a submission for the Fall of the Republic moc you guys are working on

I saw this a bit too late if you are still looking for submission, either for this patch or the next I would gladly love to voice line in the mod.
I currently voice for my YouTube channel Star Wars Imperial Historian, a Star Wars Lore Channel from the view point of an imperial.
If there is still an opening I would love to get involved.

Can we still submit voice samples to maybe one day be used for future projects?
