Thief Gold upscaled textures and cinematics using ESRGAN neural network. Most of the textures correctly tiled by hand after the upscaling when tiling is present so there is mostly no edges between same textures. Additionally were improved carry images and illumination maps were created for lighted textures like windows etc
TFix unofficial patch is absolutely necessary to run this pack!!! ESRGAN pack was intended to be used will all the options of the TFix chose (T2Skies, T2models, T2water, EP1 etc). I didn't tested it without T2models.
Installation order:
- Install Thief Gold
- Install TFix patch (preferably full installation)
- Install Thief Gold ESRGAN Textures Base pack
- Install Thief Gold ESRGAN TFix pack (if you installed TFix with all options)
- Install Thief Gold ESRGAN EP1 pack (authentical or non-authentical) (if you installed EP1 during TFix installation)
- Install HQ paintings
- (optional) Install Thief Gold ESRGAN SD video pack
- (optional) Install Thief Gold Sound Enhancement Pack (not my mod, it remasters sound ingame for additional HD experience).
For installation you just need to copy/overwrite all files from the archive to the game folder.
Additional information:
Body Carry images were made by Corsair from TTLG forum (he upscaled them using neural network and downscaled them back with some manual editing).
Music for cinematics was remastered by iTaffer (aka musictaffer)

Some of the textures on characters are extremely misaligned. The mages have their faces on their belly and the face is one big piece of cloth. Terrifying.
Hail friend, are these textures the same size as originals, just enhanced?
I ask because I usually play with filtering disabled to mimic my experience playing back in the day on my W95 machine. Would be nice to have the same effect but with more definition & contrast as in this pack!
Also I see some textures the AI did not have a good time with. The faces on the sun motif and the key sigil on the door were somewhat messed up, might be worth having an artist do a pass on these.
