You start off with a cutscene, then you move on to repair the ship for training, then the crew can decide on a name. After that it's all up to the crew what happens and if victory or failure is achieved. The ship is likely going to be either a light cruiser or a heavy cruiser either way it's going to be one of the fastest ships in the game and almost the best armed. As a modern ship many subsystems are taken care of but if something goes wrong then it's up to the crew to repair it. Features such as closing bulkheads to maintain buoyancy if the hull is breached and monitoring fuel, ammunition, and food is also necessary to keep both the ship and crew in commission.
The main goal is to reach your homeland to warn them of impending attack by an unknown enemy that has amassed and prepared to wipe out all the people on Earth. In effect total genocide. They are the same enemy that wiped out your fleet as well early in the game.
I've been thinking a lot about making this mod and I've decided to do it because it's now Summer and I don't have to worry about school getting in my way. Programmers, coders, and map makers are welcome.

Most of the models used will be from HL2 EP2 with the exeption of ships and (maybe, that's a big maybe btw) some aircraft like helicopters. Some help would be nice as I do need assistance with the creation of the ships, map, and programming, but other than that I'm mostly going to handle everything else. This is intended to be co-op so AI might be an issue when it comes to ships but it's nothing that can't be handled. In terms of aircraft though it's anticipated at least two or three types might be used (ie bomber, fighter, and helicopter.)

Also if you're gonna make a HL2 mod use Ep2, it's the latest engine.
As far as I know, more people make mods on HL2. Just sayin'.
