Dawn of the Tiberium Age (DTA) is a stand-alone mod that combines Tiberian Dawn (C&C 95) and Red Alert. While classic mode gets as close to the original game-play and balance as possible, Enhanced mode provides improved game balance and a lot of fun new stuff. DTA features many customization options for Skirmish and multiplayer (where you can play as GDI, Nod, Allies and Soviet on over 200 maps), challenging original singleplayer missions, as well as co-op missions. Since this is a stand-alone mod, you don't require anything but the mod itself to be able to play: the original game is not required.
A 4 player map by me. I initially made a Scavenger version of this map for DTA v1.1117 (preview: Media.moddb.com), but it was removed again in DTA 1.12, along with the Scavenger game mode itself.
I now edited this map (I made space for bases, added tiberium/ore and added some extra details) so that it can be used as a regular multiplayer map.
Top-Left position just seems odd to me, but other then that it's nice. =)
Care to elaborate on what you mean with odd?
Sorry for the late reply. I mean it's not as aligned with the other starting points as the others are with each other. It's not really game-breaking or a balance issue, it just looks a little weird and I have OCD for stuff like that. xD
Oh, I see what you mean. I initially did consider placing the top left starting location a bit lower (on about the same height as the top right starting location), but that would've left a pretty large empty area above it.
To keep the balance right I just made sure all starting locations had a similar distance to tiberium/ore fields, while at the same time avoiding (visually) perfect symmetry (like phillon, personally also think it looks more interesting that way).
Looks good to me. I like maps that have certain symmetries to them, but not perfect symmetry as that to me is boring. This is a good map, thank you. I also wonder why templar thinks top left is odd? I don't really see anything 'odd' about it?
I've just slightly updated the map and replaced the image. After looking at the map for a while, I felt that the upper left region of the map actually seemed a bit empty, so I added some extra details (roads, grass, bushes and cactuses).
