I never did understand what the point of Tector is, its just a star destroyer with no fighters and a little more armor around the reactor dome.

They moved the Reactor to a safe position inside the ship's hull, rather than bulging out.

The bulge from the reactor is the usual reason Star Destroyers are destroyed

Personally I agree that it is probably silly for 1+ km ships to not have a hangar bay. However, the Tector is based on a shot from Return of the Jedi where the Falcon files over a Star Destroyer. It was probably intended to be the top of a Star destroyer, but the bridge structure got in the way of the camera angle. So Lucas Arts filled in the Hangar Bay of one of the ISDs just for that shot and hoped nobody would notice it is in fact the bottom. Of course they underestimated Star Wars fanboys, and eventually the Tector was created to explain why there was a hangarless ISD.

Likewise, the Allegiance probably doesn't have a hangar bay because its based on the ships from the Dark Empire comics. And Star Wars comic books are notorious for not drawing hangar bays when they should be there to save time. :p

I've always suspected this.

What I would do for the Tector is add another smaller reactor where the hanger once was to increase power output for the weapons. Essentially you could turn it into a small Battlecruiser with it's weapons being close to Battlecruiser levels but having the speed and agility of regular Star Destroyers.

Which for the lore of this mod would be a good thing for Warlords. With their limited resources and the idea for specialization of ships a Tector would be great for fleet roles as a heavy hitter.

Well it did have a lot more weaponry if I'm not mistaken its power reactors were also more efficient/powerful too I think

There is no official information on the Tector's stats other than its obviously superior armor. If I were to guess, it would have the same weaponry as an ISD but perhaps a bigger reactor.
