Star Wars: Interregnum is an upcoming mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that builds off of the highly successful Enhanced 4X Mod. Fleeing the unknown terror that is chasing the Vasari, the factions of Sins of a Solar Empire stumble on a temporary wormhole that takes them to a galaxy far, far away. The sudden arrival of armadas with trillions of refugees and thousands of warships between the events of Episodes 5 & 6 forever alters the Star Wars universe and plunges the galaxy into an unprecedented period of chaos and violence. Begun, a new conflict has.

"The Rebel Alliance involvement with the Triple Alliance is merely to provide a distraction. A cushion which the Empire may brutally beat. True the New Republic will no doubt function in a similar manner. They sit there in a circle asking the question: What are we doing? They have not needed to govern like the Empire has. They have no idea what it means to keep the peace of thousands of worlds. No. The New Republic is young and cannot serve their people. The days have passed in which it was a Rebel base here or there. Rebels no longer hide among population of planets. People will rejoice at the freedom they now have. The freedom to be lead astray or not lead at all. People long to be under those more wise and powerful than themselves. The New Republic and Rebel Alliance are not those things. Therefore, we, the Empire, can take comfort in the fact they their people will starve and be under greater duress than under the Empire. Pirates, bandits, and the host of other threats this galaxy has recently been introduced to will bring the people back to us. Why would you desire freedom if it is that which will lead you to destruction? The Empire can protect and serve! To the citizens of the Empire-we are coming! Long live the Empire!"

The Rebels are terrorists not freedom fighters

Coming from the people who built a weapon with the soul purpose of killing civilsed, populated worlds if they ever speak out against the two man cult that rules the galaxy. Yeah were terrorists.

Who just so happened to destroy a planet that hid behind a facade of peace and love and crap despite its huge connections to terrorist groups and was supplying them with not only weapons but training and funding.

So... are you saying that all the 2 billion people needed to die because some of its government were supporting the rebels?
Let me quote you something "War does not determine who is right - only who is left."
The Alliance to Restore the Republic believed in freedom above all things and the Galactic Empire believed in control and order through fear and reprehension, none were completely right or wrong but the empire's 'order' was far from ideal and severely corrupt, so between some imperfect dictatorship and imperfect free republic, most of the galaxy preferred the Freedom the Republic brought, and that is why they won. (man, that was nerd of me =D)

(buried)

The Empire had nothing to do with Alderaan being blown up.

Really? Because as I recall the station that destroyed the planet was built and operated by the Empire, which ruled through fear and terror. compared to that. I don't see how the Alliance are terrorists. But whatever, every dicatorship has its blind followers.

Uh, the Empire was boasting about it for a week. Unless you doubt the word of Grand Moff Tarkin and the Imperial Ministry of Propaganda. :p

Alderaan was a false flag inside job by the Rebels. Space lasers, no matter how large, can't melt planetary crust.

Only the rebels portrayed it as corrupt when in reality they again were the previous leaders of literally the most corrupt entity in the galaxy yea sure alright buddy. Hell they only started a second war because they got thrown out of power.

It'd be cool if the Rebels had access to more Clone-Wars era stuff as well as just the Providence. Like some of those old Recusant light destroyers, or some Banking Clan Munificent frigates. Stuff that would have been abandoned after the CIS went under, just waiting for a band of under-equipped freedom fighters to find them and re-paint them in the red and cream.

Promising. Wasn't too sure about the time I spotted a Venator in an Imperial fleet, it doesn't do anything that the regular ImpStarDeuce can't do better, like the Acclimator (capable of landing on a planetary surface to deliver/take on troops). I imagine the Rebels would be keeping an eye out for any of those that are still lying about too (wink wink).

That is actually not true. Venators have much larger Starfighter carrying capacity, even more than the ISDs, which is why they are carrier caps in this mod.

Lots of pretty screenshots to look through then. :p

Actually most of those updates were added by the community. Anyone is allowed to post screenshots, provided they follow some criteria like hiding icons/hud etc. I have been kind of wishing moddb had a pin images ability or a toggle so that you only get updates when an updated by a mod team member is made, but as you said, it certainly makes it clear the mod isn't dead. :-)

Nope, this mod is strictly set after Episode VI. That will never change.

More of their ships will be added in other ways however.

It would be cool, even if strange, to have a Legacy era ship as a 'superweapon' easteregg in some planet

If you mean the over 100+ ABY part of the legacy era, yeah, that's even less likely to happen than adding the Clone Wars era. :p

keyword easteregg, but hey, just a random thought

An easter egg would be something like making a minimod that replaces the Gladiator mesh with the Harrower Dreadnaught from SWTOR, or replacing one of the dwarf planet models with a Death Star mesh. :p If its a fully functional piece of content, I don't think that's an easter egg anymore.

Description

The Empire's withdrawal from the Outer Rim has allowed trillions of people to reclaim their fundamental rights to freedom and representative government. But hundreds of trillions still live their lives under Darth Vader's mechanical fist. We have not forgotten them. Now even the core of the Empire is within our sights. And we will strike relentlessly until all that are oppressed are free.
