There are some things that could be changed in the Imperial ship models.
Imperial I destroyers have cup shaped main engine nozzles (like this Media.moddb.com), while 2's have tubular ones (https://i.pinimg.com/originals/90/28/10/902810d6deb6db2700d04ee6fadee866.jpg).
There are also some minor differences in the spherical shield domes. 2's have slightly oblate domes, featuring a series of vertical spines (https://media.indiedb.com/images/games/1/12/11616/classcompare03.jpg).

Is there a source for these differences, or is this just artistic differences between different models? The differences in the equipment above the command tower and turrets is well documented, but I've never heard of these shaped differences of the engines and shield domes.

Not sure if the matter was described in some guides or sourcebooks, but the difference is quite visible in the movies. Made some screens of ISDs' engines from OT and R1 - I.ibb.co
And shield generators - I.ibb.co

Interesting. I'm not 100% convinced, and Rogue One's models have key differences with both the original trilogies ISDs, but those are some good screenshots. Also seems the ISD-IIs used the secondary engines as thrusters while the ISD-Is do not.

That said, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Those are rather small details. That said perhaps the original model creator, Maxloef1990, would be generous enough to comment on the matter.

Could easily be down to artistic licence?

Also, probably reading into it a tad much, but somewhere in the lore mentions that ISDs built in different shipyards/worlds have minor differences in performance and therefore probably have slightly parts etc, which makes perfect sense.
Plus, ISD-II ARE improvements, so probably will be different.

On that note, are you planning on more distinct icons? I find it hard to find the Interdictor SD in the heat of a battle...

Description

While the Rebel Alliance is the main beneficiary of model and texture overhaul that will be in the next release of Interregnum, the Empire is also getting a few strategic and much needed upgrades as well. With that in mind I am happy to report that the Bellator is finally getting upgraded to use Jeroen(imo)'s excellent model of this fan favorite ship. This update has long been planned, but once again Dolynick has been the driving force behind these visual updates, and has rigged this model for use in Sins. He deserves a big round of applause of getting this model (easily the largest of the reworked models in the update) ready to go.

Needless to say, if you enjoy Empire at War or Star Ruler II, you should check out Jeroen(imo)'s Empire at War: Re or Dolynicks DOF Mod Collection if you've never heard of them. I'm certain they look fantastic!
