Hey, I've noticed that I've been getting an unusually high amount of minidumps recently. I don't think I ever got a single one pre-Alpha 3, but now I can barely start a game! I just played the "A Galaxy Far, Far Away" map with every faction and had a minidump in less than five minutes. The other thread with the savegame issue happened with one of my Ascended Advent plays, but this time I hadn't loaded a save file, only started a game.

I'm sure my system isn't causing the problem, and I have LAA enabled (and re-enabled and re-re-enabled). I have no idea why this is happening, and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.

This only happens with Interregnum, by the way. Vanilla, SOGE, SOTP and my own minimods work fine.

Try lowering your graphics settings, even if you have LAA on. A few people have reported that they still needed to reduce graphics settings even with LAA enabled. I'm not sure why this is if you have spare RAM that is not being used, but it would explain why a "Galaxy Far, Far Away" with every faction was an issue. Since that would force the game to basically load everything in the mod. :p

I thought about that... I'll try a game with 5 Rebel Alliance factions- that's the newest addition, so I'll see if that might be the problem. If the problem is that everything is being loaded and it crashes the game, then how can anyone play "Galaxy Far, Far Away" at all?

For whatever reason, some PCs have more issues with RAM crashes than others. As I said, I'm unsure why some people need to reduce settings and use LAA while others do not. And honestly I do not play with maxed graphics settings even with LAA; very few mods have ever worked well for me on the highest setting, so I've just been on high for years. :p

What version of Rebellion do you have? If you have the GOG.com version of the game, make sure you are using the recent Alpha 3.11 release. Everyone else should be using the Alpha 3.1 release for the time being.

See this article for more of an explanation.

I am also having an issue with Star Wars Interregnum where whenever i load the mod or start the game with the mod loaded Sins has a mini dump that does not allow me to play the game at all. I do indeed have the steam version of the game and am Running on the 3.1 alpha Release Version for the mod if you could tell me how to fix this issue I would be very grateful as i very much enjoy playing the Mod.

So you are running version 1.82 of Rebellion correct? What is your checksum?

Afraid not.

Go to the mod tab from the main menu options. There will be a (usually large) number displayed above the mod lists. That is the checksum. This is what the game uses to determine if two players are running the same mods. Each Interregnum download has a checksum listed on the download page. You should always verify your checksum matches if you are having technical issues, as you might have gotten a corrupt download if it doesn't.

This screenshot is for the 1.83 version of Rebellion, so the numbers don't apply to you, but you can see where it is. The checksum will also be visible Before you apply the mod, so even if the mod crashes on start up you can ensure it matches.

Well it would seem that i somehow fixed it I guess I must have selected them for install in the wrong order for something and got the wrong check sum i guess but anyways thanks for helping me fix this because I probably wouldn't have been able to figure out the check sum thing on my own

Hello, I just reinstalled sins after a couple of months and wanted to try out interregnum in its 1.83 version. However, after installing 4x and interregnum, each time I try to set up the mod to launch it crashes due to a minidump. I'm using steam 1.83 version of the game, mods installed in Mods-Rebellion v1.83 folder.

this is my mod setup, I don't understand what i'm doing wrong: modorder

Hmm, that does indeed look right. May I ask if you bought Rebellion from Steam or GOG?

I bought steam version, using the opt in beta for 1.83.

After playing around a bit lowering effects more then i used to in the past with interregnum and launching the game windowed, enabled me to be able to launch game with 4X and Interregnum, however a few mins into the game it crashed for a minidump again.

Afterwards I cleaned "enabledmods.txt" and tried a couple more times with same low graphics\windowed settings, but with no luck got crash on launching mod a couple more times. Meanwhile I downloaded 1.82 version of the mods and switched to 1.82 steam version of sins and it runs perfectly.

Are you sure you enabled LAA when you opted in to 1.83? You have to do that again every time the game updates. If changing graphics settings makes a difference then its almost certainly a RAM issue. Just odd its different between 3.1 and 3.11.

The next patch will have better RAM usage though so I'd hope it won't be an issue on 1.83 when Alpha 3.12 comes out.
