Description

The Kulinor-class battleship holds the mantle as the most advanced warship in the Cardassian fleet. An entirely new design, the Kulinor was launched in the 2370s after years of painstaking research and 'acquisition' of new technologies. Equipped with the latest Cardassian phaser emitters and precise targeting systems, the Kulinor has more firepower than the Galor cruiser and even the Keldon battleship pales in comparison. This makes the Kulinor a deadly battleship in the conventional sense.

Its greatest strengths, however, lie elsewhere. The Kulinor carries some of the most advanced technology in the Cardassian Union, including the fruits of the latest research into quantum singularities, specifically those that act as gateways to the fluidic home dimension of the mysterious species known only by their Borg designation - Species 8472. The Kulinor can actually open a gateway to fluidic space and pull a powerful 8472 bioship into our universe. The fiercely protective aliens will typically attack anything in sight, but the Kulinor uses a clever sensor-masking system to ensure that it and other nearby Cardassian vessels will not be recognised as targets.

Its least subtle feature is found in the massive underslung plasma cannon mounted along the Kulinor's ventral hull. Channelling a massive plasma surge through this weapon, the Kulinor can dramatically eradicate even large planetary populations with a single blast that can devastate a continent. The message sent by the use of such a weapon is clear - there is no future for those who oppose Cardassia.
