That is pretty cool. I'll make sure to kill them first before approaching their bodies.

I would make it that the belt is booby-trapped. So if you try to loot the body it goes boooom :D . And then add a defusal-kit or a portable detector to increase the chance of not setting off the bomp.

I have delved in it before, best program to use is inno setup, also search for the issi addon pack. It's free and simple to edit the code it also support LZMA compression so you can really reduce the filesize.

My vote goes for torrent too for the initial download-spree. With that many seeders and leechers it should well reduce the load. Later on you can switch back to DDL.

My vote is also for torrent, assuming you're taking suggestions at all. Nothing sucks more then a large download from one of these "free" hosting services. The ones that cap the speed at something ridiculous like 50Kb unless you pay them. Especially when you're talking something really like 5Gigs, that's a crapton of data... sucks extra hard with sites that don't offer some sort of a resume broken download feature.

Everyone knows the 'soul', rare artefact can fix you up better than any doctor given enough time to rest, minor wounds disappear as quickly as they appear.
There are rumours however of a powerful artefact, even greater than the soul. They say that it is the very reason why some of the monolith are so damn difficult to drop. Those exos can be of great assistance but not even that could save you from a 12 gauge to the torso at point blank range or a AP sniper round to the head.
The 'eye of god' some have come to call it.
Could be utter hogwash but it sure as hell would explain why the bastards just won't stay down.
----------------------------------------------

So basically still business as usual. Long range tactics and approach with extreme prejudice.
A nice touch to the Monolith though.

A little 'head-canon' I have floating around.
The Monolith techs are experts when it comes to artefact manipulation and gear augmentation, plus the constant psi and particle radiation have left them not quite human any more.

Perhaps the psy/radiation has altered how artifacts react to a dedicated Monolith's biology - a bit like how Witchers (as in... the action RPG) alchemically altered their bodies so they may gain benefits from potions that are lethal to normal humans.

So this means you can't loot monolith cause you can't see wich soldier carries Suicidal Grenade, kinda bad cause you must save and then loot bodies and if you get lucky you'l not explode leaving atleast 1 body unlooted.

As I understood, they will only go suicidal if you severely wound them or they run out of ammo, so they must be alive to go boom ... if I understood correctly that is.

Although having some of them with delayed deadman switches would be neat.

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes
wikkid1
wikkid1 - - 49 comments

You can't loot not dead bodies anyway. These guys are not dead, it's not a booby trapped corpse. They're alive, the aim cursor will turn red when you hover over them, just pump another round until the cursor doesn't respond anymore.
This is something that I've seen in another mod. First time I encountered this feature I got blown up. Saw the guy on the ground, not doing anything just laying there, noticed the aim dot go red, but decided to approach anyway. Maybe he wants a medpack or something... booom! right in my face. Since then I've been making sure that bodies are dead before getting close.

It would be interesting if it was possible to convert these badly wounded enemies to friendlies. So that each time you run into one you gotta decide to risk it and maybe earn another friend, or get a nice explosion in your face. Otherwise it's just kill em all. But at this point I'd be happy with almost anything that gives me more STALKER to play, it's been too long.

So basicly, Shoot them in the head for afar while they are standing, once you got them down, put another bullet or two from a short distance just to make sure.

(gawd its like fighting explosive zombies all over again!)

"mmahh... mahh... mmmahshiiiiooo..." *kill the zombies!*

*hes rolling on the floor like usual* "takes knife and prepares to cut the zombie in the head"

*KABOOOMMM!*

About explosions, please devs, for grenades and explosive suicides, make the explosion sound muffled when player is near!

@devs

on the note on zombies "my last comment"

Are you going to make it so they dont become zombies from regular emissions? maybe only from psy storms?

as of now when i play 1.2 there are to many zombies, and even when i shoot them in the head 3 times it still doesnt kill them, they have buggy hitboxes and its never worth killing them.

How are you going to adress this? "i know about shooting in the heart and such 2.o"

But that doesnt fix the issues, they are way too many, every emission all of them turn into zombies, "ALL OF THEM"

there are atleast a pile of 12-24 zombies each emission and it really gets on my nervs, and the fact that they move in groups of 3-6 makes it even worse.

They are just piles of meat moving mindlessly around the zone being annoying and not worth to even shoot at.

please make less of them or just outright let people DIE instead of being turned into zombies.

my 2 cents on that topic, just today is saw a pile 10 zombies just massacering everything in its way, and its not worth to use up even 10-20 sniper rounds just to be safe.

Wait, wait, wait.....They changed it so zombies die with a shot to the heart as well. That makes the speal I had with others on here about the realistic aspect of the zombies being more or less vegetables from psych and radiation but still human; and the mod contribution I made for Misery 1 (with help of course, all in my credits) totally worth it!!! XD WIN!!!

I know that you already knew, I'm not stupid. -_- joysucker. There was suppose to be a question mark after the word well. "Mr. I can't figure out that someone else didn't know about something being added in and is overly excited that something they contributed actually made it into an awesome mod the likes of which the world has never seen before." By the way does anyone know if they fixed trading? cuz it's not like a bunch of people helped with that *cough* :P

As far as I know the default kills NPCs caught in an emission, the large amount of zombies is probably because you went to the sawmill and that triggers zombie spawning in Zaton(if you don't kill every one of them the amount of zombies spawned increases).

Description

Monolith can commit suicide if defeated.

From Stalker lore/wiki:

"The Monolith stalker clan is a xenophobic religious cult, hostile to all but their own, that is a major part of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat and appears in a supporting role in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky.

A religious cult that is hostile to all but their own, the Monolithians believe in the power of the Wish Granter, rumored to be an alien artifact hidden in the center of the Zone. Members of this faction devote their lives to protecting the secret of the Great Crystal, ensuring that no one ever reaches the center of the Zone.

A typical Monolithian is a former stalker brainwashed by one of the psychic emitters throughout the Zone into serving the will of the C-Consciousness, unflinchingly loyal and ready to sacrifice himself at a moment's notice. This extreme loyalty is achieved by creating intense religious fanatism in the mind of the stalker, directed towards the Monolith.

While physically, they are on par with other stalkers, their religious fervor sets them apart and allows them to ignore wounds and continue to fight, even after they run out of ammo. Stories abound of fanatical Monolith Stalkers, after running out of ammo, ditch their weapons and attempt to kill the enemy with their bare hands, no matter how grievous their wounds. This same fervor also prevents others from capturing a Monolith member – if taken into custody, he will commit suicide in any way possible (even by smashing his head against the wall)."
