Realistic consumables based of real world intrinsic values! READ DEESCRIPTION!!!
Lets take Bread for example. First I research into the cost of living in Russia as of January 2018. (as a whole) Then I find the median price for a loaf of bread which was about 28.88py6. I then calculate inflation from 2006-2018 which was about 9.69% which bring the bread price up to about 31py6. Now I know what your thinking, "Why would you account for inflation in a game that was based in 2006 and your character is in 2006. Wouldn't the price actually drop?" Well you right, It would! Unfortunately this would make values in the game extremely low even after calculating the import/smuggle cost so instead I plan to make it in the lore that Russian rubbles just have less value in the Zone :P. Let's continue; after finding the value of 31 rubble for the price of bread I divide that by two since the in game model is of half a loaf of bread bringing us to 15.5 or 16py6. After that I figure out the location of where the bread is being imported/smuggled into the zone. Well according to the lore already in the game Nimble's wife makes the bread in the Zone! So there wouldn't necessary be a smuggling fee! Currently I have this multiplier at x5 for items made in the zone. (Subject to change) Then I add a Traders Tax that your local seller would take at 10%. (Subject to change) Then additionally Nimble's cut at another 10% (Absolutely subject to change) Then finally I add in the transporter/border-crosser fee based on the distance they have to travel. (Not implement yet, working on Lore) Finally I add another 25% if the food is health and clean. With all that in mind bread comes at a cost of a measly 111ru in game. Of coarse goodwill values are added to that and I'm ok with that.
Now for weight; I find the weight usually very easily and simply translate that into the game. For instance a loaf of Russian bread usually weighs 16oz or .45kg. Divide that by two since its a half loaf and walla .23kg.
Now calories; again usually very easy, and average loaf of Russian bread with give you about 1288 calories in total and consist of about 14 slices. Divide that by 2 and bam 644 calories in every loaf.
Now for the part I've really overhauled in the game is Eat Sleepiness; originally these values were SO LOW you would NEVER get tired from eating heavy meals. Heck as it is your character can go out and fight life threatening gun battles for 24 hours strait, carry 250kg home, distribute it and STILL not be tired. I am to start fixing that with food. No longer can you stuff a huge ass loaf of bread down your throat in a few seconds (Planning to have bread among other items have more uses) or chug a whole bottle of vodka down just to pull off some rads. (Best do that before you go to best because alcohol is gonna make you pass out.) Back to the subject at hand! So to figure out how tired food makes you after eating it I find out how many carbohydrates the food gives you since scientifically those are one of the main affecters of you feeling sleepy after you eat. Bread has 15carbs per slice! So I multiply that by 7 to make it half a loaf then finally multiply that by 3 to simulate stress of being in the zone (Also makes you tired and subject to change) and Wazzow .315 (used to be like 0.00028 -_- ) is the value I use for this function. As a reference at 4.0 your character will pass the f**k out.
Now keep in mind not all foods HAVE carbohydrates and the stress factor will be very little.
So currently depending on the ration you buy, you'll notice as before they are pretty pricey. They have separate import values that I'll discuss later but for now I want to talk about why you SHOULD try and buy them. Unlike other foods they are generally less heavy for the amount of meals they supply as well as they WILL NOT (They actually wake you up!) make you tired like most other foods! In fact I'm planning to add some other benefits to military rations like a prolonged but not very strong boost to your carry weight or stamina. Simply to balance things out. Otherwise realistically that Ukrainian rations is gonna turn you into a very sleepy Stalker.
Alcohol is now MUCH more potent and will knock your ass out if you drink it to quickly! The cheap zone produced alcohol is at 1.2 sleepiness per swig (4.0 knocks you out) while higher quality alcohol has less effect. To balance this alcohol now has a much more potent radiation removal and has a decent amount of calories (300-500).
The "Beak" vodka is VERY expensive as in the lore it is VERY RARE and comes with VERY RARE effects to match! :)
The Military flask of water is more expensive but has great calorie/sobering/awakening effects.
Beard's Tea Has Awesome calorie/sobering/awakening effects!
Marlboro are Rare in the Zone and values respect that. They also make you much less tired as a placebo effect on smoking something so rare.
Man Marijuana is expensive as hell in Russia at 990py6 per 5 grams on average including inflation. Psi protection has been dramatically increased to counter this.
'Hand rolling' tobacco has a much longer duration. Around 5 minutes. I will be changing this to 'chewing tobacco' in the future.
Smoking has a tiny increase to your hunger to reflect real life effects.

Wow! I already endorse it as much as I can! Awesome job, man!
Thanks guys! I should have the drink_items.ltx release today. (Drink Consumables) Then have then have the drugs (old and new) out the next. The reason it takes so long for these changes is not the changes themselves but the research I have to put into it to find the values XD.
Check out the additional notes I posted today if your interested on how I find out these values!
very good its different
Thanks! My intention was to have something very different as opposed to just a easier/harder value change.
So much yes! thanks for more immersion! :)
Thanks! I'll be releasing an update that adds drinkable and smokeable consumables today!
Guess this will be on my list for the new playthrough, nice work.
Thanks, and thanks for your help!
Hey guys the new update has been released (0.2). It adds new values for drinks and smokes! I also noticed that a few of the food items in game are showing incorrect values, it's an easy fix but I'm to tired to do it tonight. Will be fixed along with the new update that includes new values for the drugs in game!
Hey I have a question to the community about a possible change I might want to make to this mod. Would anyone be interested on me removing the ability to know how many calories are in a food item based on weather its possible to know or not. For example: you could find out the calories from canned food as it would be on the label, same for packaged food. You wouldn't however with bread, or mutant food for example. What do you guys think?
I think its a cool idea but kinda moot. Even though a can of food tells you x amount of calories its still an approximation, just like guessing calories in a loaf.
Perhaps go the middle ground suggest a range of caloric value like "500-600 calories" or "500* calories"?
Calories approximation on food labels are quite accurate like 10% margin of error on average, can't call that a "guessing" ;)
Hotfix has been released to fix canned goods not showing correct calorie values. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION!
Hey guys update here, I think I'm going to start releasing updates via google drive links as a simple 5 minutes fix that I uploaded yesterday took 24 hours to process....
I cant unzip. Says its damaged. Tried re-downloaded twice.
I tested with this machine and my friends, works fine. Are you using WinRAR?
I will 2nd this, getting damaged or unrecognized archive with both rar and 7zip.
Ok thanks I'll update this with a google drive link, could you test to make sure it works?
where is it?
Here: Mega.nz
Ended up using Mega instead.
Edit: updated this link
it requires decrypt key m8
Try it again I messed up the first time
is good
I recommend doing everything in gamedata instead of packing it up back to database.
Today a new patch was released and it changes database\configs which makes your changes disappear. Also, any other mod can interfere with your changes.
Also, you and everyone who wants to change anything in your addon has to go through unpacking database and finding every changed file, which takes some time.
Hey thanks, I would rather do that but I had to change two lines in configs.dB for some description changes. Is there a way to do that in gamedata (change item descriptions)? If there is I can upload a fixed ganadata version only very quickly.
If itβs anything text related, you can take it from the translation.
No more updates?

Sorry for the VERY late update. I will no longer be working on this mod as Last Day is stopping development. I will however be back in full for Stalker: Anomaly. I highly recommend you try it!
