I've been your using the previous version of your mod and I always considered it essential and the best in it's kind.

This version looks naturally even better, simply amazing! The amount of work put into it is impressive. The choice of icons and other highlight effects is well thought. Maybe except for raw food type icons.

Thank you for your work!

Oh my gosh! Yes! I can not play without this.

Any chance we'll get a merge with this?: Moddb.com

In theory I know how to replace icons myself, but it is a lot of work and I only have Gimp and you seem to be way more skillful than me (+ I have no idea how to apply clean text to the ammo icons).

already included the patch in the zip file. I don't port over his ammo icon however, since the vanilla is more familiar (standard across all official games) and easier to recognize.

maybe another minor update later I'll include it as optional versions.

Sorry. I should have read everything before commenting. Guess I was a bit too exited there for a moment.

But that's a fair point. It's also no big deal. I just thought that the new ammo icons actually look really nice and lore friendly. I could port them over myself anyway if I really wanted them in my game.

Cheers and thanks

You are a legend!

Earlier I noticed that the "configs" folder was named "config" folder in one of compatibility patch folders.

And what program do you use for editing?

I must say your icons a very impressive. Im working on a weapon texture mod myself and i hate doing the icons for them, im not very good at it... Seeing all the work you put in one must understand that this is labor of love.

Really user friendly, no more second guessing ammo types & the likes, pretty much an essential mod at this point.

Currently missing a couple of scopes and guass icons when use with latest Boomsticks and sharpsticks mod otherwise awesome job!

thanks for notifying about the issue. 👍 Guess I was just way too sleepy and missed labelling some of their stuff.

✅ patched it in v2.02, Boomstick's scope & silencers are labelled as gold color font instead of white, to easily differentiate vanilla & modded items.

Awsome work, dude! This really gives more detailed info about stuff. Installed it and everything looks good, but so far I noticed that only ELCAN scope from Boomsticks is blank, no icon though.

it appear that the texture provided by Boomstick in [06. Patch after installing Anomaly Magazines 0.3.6.1] do not contain icons for those additional scopes for whatever reason.... I dunno if that is a mistake on his side or what.

✅ patched the problem in V2.03b. Thanks for reporting. 👍

Question:-
Is this compatible with Vivid Colors and Icons? Moddb.com

Hi I'm using your Icons and now I can't play Anomaly without it... My question is could you make the Icons for Ammo Overhaul (from Yim's weapon)? because AO remove bad and damage ammo so I don't want them to still look bad and damage

*sorry for my english

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

technically the ammo adjustment he did isn't exactly all the same, the "better" old/broken ammos are still have slightly worst stats than the good one. If you want all ammo to use the same icons, it is better to adjust it on the Ammo Overhaul mod's item config file by changing the icon coordinate to be the same as the good ammo...

this way will create less compatibility hell with this icon texture file that already is hell to make compatible with other things...

Hey digitalifeless, thank you for the addon! It runs fine on my game.

I'm using version 1.5, with hotfix 8 and the 1.4 update, with Generic Mod Enabler, version 2.6.0.157.

I'm a big fan of Stalker, and rediscovered the game after so many years. And I keep finding these gems, like Call of Chernobyl before and now, Anomaly and its add-ons. Yours, it helps with the immersion, at least for me. So thanks again!

Well, at first I was like: "Why use this?" Now I'm more like: "Why didn't I get to be born in radioactive Chernobyl so my psychic powers guided me towards this mod earlier?" XD Excellent work friend anyway, really love it, thank you big time :D

P.-s.: One extremely little thing I find to be a shame is that it seems you desatured all these icons a bit. Don't know if it's me, my config (new icons addon) or my eyes stricken by the beauty of it all, but it seems some colours faded a bit... Just some feedback because I'm jealous, nothing I can't live with :D

Thx cheeki breeki!

Saturation stays the same unchanged. If anything adjusted, I just added tiny bit of brightness & contrast to it - which actually increases the saturation slightly...

If you're using any ReShade setup, be mindful that any adjustment it mades does affect the UI as well.

Reply Good karma+1 vote

Thx for the answer ;).

Definitely there's something about the saturation (vibrance? Sorry, just the colours being "fade/pale"). I've been playing with new icons that boomstick adds by defaut, and that for a while (with Reshade, yeah) so the lack of colours seems not to be an imagination of mine...I hope ^^ It's striking (as "it shows", not as "it's shocking").
Actually, I would put the blame onto the exposure...this is what would be the cause of it all if I had to guess: there's a whitish/brighter look to all the icons which look like now...how to put it...like less vivid, yeah less colourful! Sorry, it's hard to explain when you're not into that fx stuff.
Again, might be something on my end/personnal hallucination, especially as no one seems to have commented about it...PLUS, I repeat, this is absolutely no big deal -- won't uninstall, really. Just a comment in passing ;). Thanks again digitalifeless ^^

I understand what you trying to describe, been playing Photoshop for ages.

It might be just variation on monitor calibration that can causes some visual disparity. I know a tons of people just leaves their calibration as default which seriously hurts the eyes.

If you want to do some light edit to it it's dead simple anyway. Photoshop or Gimp or whatever as long as it supports DDS format.

Reply Good karma+2 votes

Oh, I hope you didn't take my saying "it's hard to describe when you're not into fx stuff" for you; it was about me! XD You, I guess you KNOW how to handle photoshop and all various terms related to graphic design and stuff like that...:)

I'll try then and see if I can add more vibrance to it (think that even XnView can do the job XD).

Oh and...what do you mean "people just leaves their calibration as default which seriously hurts the eyes"? I'm a fanatic of custom, but never heard of monitor calibration...and that default values could hurt the eyes! You mean arranging the display of your screen like colours, brightness and such through the video card pannel? Sorry about all the questions...and thx for your time :)

Somehow I want to make my version of icon, I have learn how-to about 3 days in photoshop, but I have get problem: all of the icon who I made (and all the base ui_icon_equiptment.dds) get transparant and not show good in game. What wrong with me? Any idea?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
digitalifeless Author
digitalifeless

aside from the actual icon picture, you also need to understand the "ALPHA" element. Alpha is a black-white layer that dictate if the image is shown or not. Black = transparent, white = shown, grey = semi transparent.

study the following pictures, hope you understood the process of dealing with Alpha, as well as setting up the correct grid for references.

Link : Imgur.com

Grid size for different texture files might be different. But for ui_icon_equipment.dds, it's 50px.

//--

If you would like to make an item have larger icon, or just move it's icon to a new location, make sure you understood also the way how the game know WHERE and SIZE of the image it suppose to fetch. These setting are written in various config files.

You will see things like:

inv_grid_width = 1
inv_grid_height = 1
inv_grid_x = 0
inv_grid_y = 0

What the above parameter means is simply 1x1 grid icon on the location of (0,0).

(0,0) is the top-left most position, literally the first square on the icon texture file. X is horizontal, and Y is vertical. Coordinate always starts with 0, not 1.

Love your addon. Can't play without it. However the choice of green text for old ammo always confuses me. I'd imagine green as a good ammo, Yellow as old and Red or Brown as damaged. Kinda like traffic lights.

Could you possibly release a patch where the Green icon is a good ammo? Would appreciate it greatly!

c : 1-compatibility with separated parts
d : 1-compatibility with new icons + separated parts

I have a problem,the icons of
Military Service Outfit
Black Leather Jacket
Freedom Leather Jacket are not displayed in the game,maybe its because i install some other icon addons before i use this one,and i just overwrite them all.Want to know how to fix it....

appear to be fine at my end, at least for the leather jackets. I could not find an item called "Military Service Outfit" in the item spawner console; not sure if that is added by other addons you have.

to ensure this addon works correct, make sure nothing else overwrite gamedata\textures\ui\ui_icon_equipment.dds

if you have addons that modify or adds items, lemme know.

I use New item icons before and when i overwrite them i didnt use the compatible patch for that because i love the old icons better,also I have use Anomaly Scopes Revision and Skadovsk pixel animation main menu in the texture folder,and I dont think i have use other addons about adds items or something...im really not good at this

and it doesn't affect QOL Icons but in my game MIlitary Service Outfit is the basic equipment of army, so I had to change it to the beril armor,but still when i kill army soilder so many of them wearing the service outfit

apology for the name confusion, apparently something else in my setup changes it to other name. But the icon is fine.

⚡ Your icon issue is cuz you have lingering config file from [new weapon & item icons] that didn't got removed.

gamedata\configs\items\outfits\o_berill.ltx
gamedata\configs\items\outfits\o_novice.ltx

if you want to remove or stop using an addon, double check ensure you remove 100% of it's files.
