Is this compatible with hand models and less ugly npc variants?

100% compatible with THAP. I don`t think you`ll need "less ugly npc variety", as far as my addon replaces all npc models itself.

Am I the only one who hates HD Models? Maybe yes, but I love the original vanilla STALKER models style, I find vanilla suits more bad-*** and tougher.

I get your point, they look a bit too clean but I they are refreashing. Makes it easier to pretend I am playing STALKER 2.

You have a point, but a lot of old players (I am personally playing since 2010) fed up to the neck with vanilla models. A touch of refreshing realism is great.

i mean if you like em that much theres a mod that upscales the quality of the original stalker skins making them more defined

Sure THEWILLOFD, I already use that add-on and it's super!
And I'm an old STALKER player, I've been playing STALKER since 2008, that's why I'm stick to that look and feel.

If you uninstall the mod, the old save will not load. Install, start a new game, evaluate the performance.

Shame there's no midway. Most of the vanilla models are pretty good, atmospheric an sufficient for most part, whereas some, like the hooded rookie bandits and loners look straight up terrible.

With HD models, again, some, like bandits in adidas tracksuits and rookie lones are very fitting and a definite improvement, whereas some of the others just feel way too clean, generic and tacticool for the rugged setting of Stalker.

Still, I'd say the biggest gripe visually at this point are mutants, not Stalkers. I'm quite surprised no good work has been done on them all those years, but there's hope - there's a recent thread on the forum where someone remodelled the controller and it looks fantastic.

by the way, does anyone here, when using the original HD models or this here compressed version, experience a pretty common bug where one npc or another is sort of stuck – moving very slowly, despite his feet-shuffling animations playing out normally, or sometimes even sinking below the map a little bit?

I only ever encountered it when using HD models and hence decided to abandon it, since it has a real effect on actual gameplay.

Curious if that's a common thing others experience.

In settings - dynamic objects render distance.
This setting will help to fix the case when, at a distance of 50-60 m from the player, not the model of the stalker, but only his torso and head) will not solve the problem of stalkers "sliding". Only exit Stalker 2 will solve lol

it works and performs really well, thank you!
But out of curiosity, is there anything that can be done to prevent situations where stalkers sometimes move very slowly despite animation of them walking playing out normally and in real-time? The same issue was prevalent in original HD models.

I did, but got no clear answer. From experience, do you find it ever interfering with your game in any serious way like when NPCs travel in warfare etc or just a mildly annoying side effect?

This is a bug that is not clear to me and does not affect the game. Stalkers react appropriately to enemies when needed. But they can "slide", yes.

RamseySparrow
RamseySparrow - - 833 comments

Ah, if they do react appropriately to enemies and don't get messed up when doing important spot to spot travel then I guess it's minor enough. Thanks for chipping in with a clarification Raito-x-Ray

I don't change inventory icons. Find conflicted mods. If you write files of my mod, then you will come across vanilla models. Make combined files, any here is the tutorial. A simple overwrite will break the game.

Hi, again. I disable all mods and in conclusion: It's sometime of vanilla game. Other portraits works fine, but that item with actor_inGame2_merc_scout doesn't exists.

Thanks you for your help!
