No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own... ulla ulla ulla ulla... Solar Worlds at War is a mod that takes inspiration from the War of The World Mythos and aims to build off it. It also takes inspiration from Edisons Conquest of Mars, the 1950s WOTW movie, WOTW Goliath, and various other SciFi stories from the early 20th century. Humanity has survived, the Martian Invasion force has failed and died off due to bacteria, and technology has rapidly advanced due to the Martian Technology being reverse engineered. But as time has passed since the original invasion, a new dark force grows as the Martians plan a second invasion, meanwhile Earth builds its own war machines and space force, and the Great Martian Wars are about to begin!
After the technology boom from reverse engineering martian tech, Locomotive technology got upgraded, and more efficent, with it benifiting greatly from both the lighter weight/stronger martian alloy and more powerful heavy element engine that increased the power output the steam engine can produce tenfold.
Due to the high cost of spaceship fuel, the train still sees heavy usage. Each time a beachhead/base, mining outpost, or new exploration outpost is established on a different world by the Earth forces, a railway system is quickly established to help transport equipment/supplies, troops, and mining resources across that worlds outposts/bases/mines. The armored Train is capable of reaching speeds of up to 100mph while the unarmed civilian version (without the weapons and wings) can reach up to 140 mph.
Additionally if that world is known to harbor Martian forces, armored trains (along with weapon cars) are also used to patrol the railway to defend those rails and outposts from any lurking alien attack forces.
In the mod, the armored train is supposed to be an equivalent of a very heavy tank, while unarmed versions will be used on props on worlds like the mining moon of Io. The armored Train armed with a duel turreted battleship cannon, 4 artillery, and 2 very light heatrays up front. While normally fast, its speed drops quite a bit if it has to use its weapons, although it is capable of fighting on near even footing with Martian fighting machines, especially if has its cannon cars attached to it.
This unit might be limited to only a few planets.

wait but if it uses rails...than how do you use it? sins it wouldnt be able to move free if its a train head...like do some primitive rails to do it or something?
