Firedrake Flamethrower Tank image - Solar Worlds at War mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own... ulla ulla ulla ulla... Solar Worlds at War is a mod that takes inspiration from the War of The World Mythos and aims to build off it. It also takes inspiration from Edisons Conquest of Mars, the 1950s WOTW movie, WOTW Goliath, and various other SciFi stories from the early 20th century. Humanity has survived, the Martian Invasion force has failed and died off due to bacteria, and technology has rapidly advanced due to the Martian Technology being reverse engineered. But as time has passed since the original invasion, a new dark force grows as the Martians plan a second invasion, meanwhile Earth builds its own war machines and space force, and the Great Martian Wars are about to begin!
Resembling an insect, the Firedrake is one of the first specialized tanks serving in the Earth Defense force. These tanks have relatively heavy armor to protect it from heatrays; its 3 threads provide additional stability and help increase its speed. The firedrakes main weapon is a powerful flamethrower capable of liquefying most alloys, and even rocks,that its flame manages to touch. While it wont melt a tripod quickly, a concenrated flame from the Firedrake is enough to cook any martian inside a tripod. Later varients of this tank swap out the flamethrower for a electrical tesla cannon.
