Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Do not juge the tech by the appearance, they could have changed the engines to more fuel efficient and eco-friendly ones, changed the computer and electrical network and add many security systems to it as in nowadays planes... The hull is just a hull, no matter what you put inside it, look at all the versions of the C-130 the USA made in real life, the hull shape ans airframe are old, but the tech is updated... It might be the same here, as for the Russian planes by the way, even if with all the gas in the world, I would not imagine modern Russia flying those Supersonics jets with 70s era jet engines wih that awful fuel consumption, and let alone security itself would need a complete overhaul, but still keeping the hull design as it is.
They should make the bombs more eco-friendly too!

Good point, it has been in service since the Vietnam war !
But that doesn't mean that they didn't make upgrades and improvements on avionics and engines as they have a lot of B-52.
That means a lot of fuel to consume and a lot of spare parts to deal with, so upgrading some of the plane's features can bring large scale economies. As we know, money doesn't bloom on trees...
