Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

I agree I did feel like I had to put a buffer around them late game.
didn't really mind it though as buffer zones is kinda what the ECA do.

Will this appear in future version 2.0 or in a small coming patch for 1.85?

Look at the lower parts of the unit, tracks are armoured on the right picture... so it is a skin to show that they gain 25% armour like every ECA light vehicles.

I like to use warhounds both defensively and offensively. I once used two of them to escort artillery units on a bombarding mission, along with Engi-durs, Wotans and Gepards. Gepards with machinegunners to protect Mortars and Warhounds to protect the Claymores (with Wotans for anti air support) Very efficent combo. My ally attacked a GLA base from the front, I was bombarding it from the flank in a nice coordination. The tigers and Harriers were sent for the coup de grace on the last buildings once all anti air defenses were destroyed... So Warhoud defenitly has its use in late game !

Description

Warhounds, although not being particularly unbalanced or weak in any situation, had a rather low survivability in the later game. To maintain their utility, Warhounds now benefit from the "Armor Skirts" upgrade.
