The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
A long while back I posted some concept art that I had made for a Scout Trooper, cold-weather variant. Here is that concept, fully realized in-game. Further, I decided to make Nova Troopers and Storm Commandos wear white armor on snow maps because their traditional black armor didn't seem practical. Besides that, Storm Commandos at least have been known to wear white armor every now and again.
YAY looks great
The overall quality of this mod (and many other Empire at War mods) continues to amaze me. Keep up the awesome work.
White armor for when their local imperial armor dry cleaner was taking too long with their standard black?
Bet those scouttroopers feel downright fabulous (or magnificent) with those snow-capes.
Also, will Mandos and NR have different climate variants as well?
At least they're ready for the current (Northern Hemipshere) season.
The local Imperial laundry washer used too much bleach... Blacks turned to white, mass hysteria ensued, Rebellion won the war.
They feel so super fabulous, especially the one on the bike. His cape flows in the wind when he's moving.
Mandalorians will be consistent no matter what the environment. The logic behind this is that Mandalorian armor is in nature, designed for every possible scenario from the get go. They are the supreme warrior culture, after all. NR troops will have weather-specific variants.
So, the Rebellion won at Endor because the Imperial Laundry service screwed up on the bleach amount?
Knowing you, that bike troop's cape looks absolutely magnificent as well.
A bad laundromat experience can ruin you whole week, man...
Speaking from experience?
On a serious cape-note, will the scout troopers use different camo patterns on the cape? Kinda like a came-cape-net-thing?
Well I don't use a laundromat (that was for comedic affect) but I have had clothes ruined...not fun.
As for camo, no, white only. If you look at most snow or cold-weather combat gear, it's almost always plain white.
Er, meant for different climates, so a green/brown cape on Endor or a tan cape on Tatooine and such.
(This is pedantry, but effect would be right word. Don't mean to offend or anything).
Oh no, no... The cape and breather mask only appear on the cold-weather variants. All other environments will feature the standard scout trooper armor.
"their traditional black armor didn't seem practical." You're talking about the same military who's troops where shiny white armor in a temperate forest environment.
I think I read in one of the X-Wing novels that they "have learned from Endor". DonĀ“t remember what that was so though, so I guess they just brun all forests down before they send in their sparkle troopers. I would.
This ^. It's much easier to hide white in a dense forest than...any color on stark white anyway.
You Sir are freaking amazing, dammit! I loved your first concept back in the days and I even more love how many details you brought into it in game.
It would be cool to see a unique minor hero with the pelt around his neck like shown in the original concept (https://www.moddb.com/mods/rise-of-the-mandalorians/images/snow-scout-concept-2#imagebox). Hm, and maybe some unique infantry-types like Endor-survivors or Ewok hunters which can only be recruited there, like this great concept I found somewhere in the past: Swagonline.net
I think the idea which lies beneath this concept is superb and I don't have seen this idea realized in any way before. Just some suggestions that came into my mind seeing your mindbreaking work.;)
Not sure I will do minor hero types. I prefer just stock units with a select group of power-heroes to tip scales every now and again. We'll see.
I don't care much for minor heroes, as I rarely use them. I don't find their abilities much help either.
This is pure art. Truly amazing. Can't wait to get my hands on this :****
Thank you all!
I spy with my little eye an AT-XT?
Actually, that'd be an AT-AR a...semi-canon?...unit Farseer made. Looks a little like an AT-XT, though.
It's the AT-AR, which was a descendant of the AT-XT along with the AT-ST. The AT-AR is actually a fully cannon unit as it was included in Star Wars: Rebels (known there as the AT-AP (attack pod vs. armored recon).
Yes! Thank you, this looks great.
Glad you think so!
