The Empire has fallen and a New Republic is born out of the conflict. But in the ashes of civil war, yet another life stirs...
Original prop model in top right... One of my least favorite props in the game. The quality is SO bad :( I hope my remake is more impressive.
Maybe you could make a prop of the big one, the one seen in Episode4.
Well I plan to remodel the rib cage props as well, which can then be used to create said skeleton. Making a single prop that long though would probably make placing it on terrain awkward, since it would likely clip into hills or float, if placed partly on higher ground...if that makes sense.
Well that the reason I thought of it was so you can recreate this, minus the Droid.
Img4.wikia.nocookie.net Starwars.wikia.com The heads are so much alike, the larger Krayt could just be a size variant in the XML instead.
Well...I had no idea there were even Krayt subspecies. Lol. Yes, an XML size adjustment would work fine :)
Most impressive...
Dang, you beat me to it.
But...am I a Jedi yet?
No... Your father you must confront... You must confront... The waffle lord
Will there be any live ones?
Now that is an interesting question... I hand't planned on it. I think if I have time, it could make for a cool addition to a skirmish map though.
If that skull and your animation work on the new basilisk is anything to go on, I’m sure it would be scary as hell!
:) I'll seriously consider it but it will come after primary units and factions are made.
While I would not dream of asking anything that would hamper the expedient completion of V5, I would love to see your take on such a fearsome creature.
So as someone who does this for a living (atleast I thought you were a game designer?) how long did this take you to make?
Obvious fact is obvious, looks way better than the original.
Unfortunately, I do not do this for a living. I seriously want to but the job market when I graduated almost 5 years ago was crap... I got into IT work instead and have just kinda...well, bad luck really. I've been applying to jobs consistently but the farthest I've gotten is 2nd round interviews. The other downside is that low-poly modeling like this is pretty much exclusive to mobile apps now because nobody plays RTS anymore... Everything is FPS and on console, which is increasingly high-poly.
Anyway, to answer your question: it took about 3.5 hours from start to finish, give or take. That's model, unwrap, texture, export and code into game.
Wow, that is a very impressive skull, the_Farseer!
