No, Empire at War looked too mediocre to be Empire at War. I'm just "fixing" it.

Very nice model but this ship like all imperial landing craft doesn't hold a candle to the LAAT.

Gunship vs transport...apples and oranges ;)

A Chinook can't hold a candle to a Blackhawk either. Both can carry troops but one holds more, while the other has better guns :)

True, but is it just me or does the Imperial doctrine favor transports over gunships?

In the movies, transports to be sure. However, there are gunship-class starships that the Empire used quite widely...they just aren't in the movies at all. The Lancet is a perfect example.

Good looking as always. Are larger ships also going to have this washed out texture style?

The art style will be consistent, yes. I wouldn't call it washed out but certainly minimalist. Sometimes it's what you can't see that makes art great. Too much detail gets confusing and cluttered. Besides, the brain can't physically perceive every scratch and detail anyway.

Sometimes, less is more, in my opinion.

Those games were cell-shaded yes? You aren't the first to say that my art style resembles cell-shading. However, seeing a still image is a lot different than seeing these units in-game. I think your perception will change once you experience the mod in person :)

Very nice. I'm just a sucker for dropships anyway.
Gotta love everything involving rapid aerial delivery into potentially hot landing zones. :D

Good to know that transports finally have some (small but sharp) teeth with which to defend themselves.

I assume the NR transports will be touched up as well? Or will the old Gallofree transports be replaced with something less like a flying potato and more...transporty?

The Gallofree is indeed outdated by this time but it was still in use. However, there are many other transport types that the New Republic used and I do plane to incorporate them in some way.

Have you thought at all about including either of the "stormtrooper transports" (though I am not sure what exact unit niche they might fall into)?

Delta-class DX-9

Gamma-class ATR-6

It would be really cool if you could use them to dock with and take over enemy capital ships, although this would be a completely new mechanic, and I am unsure if EaW even has the mechanics for said function.

You could also use them to drop off general troops instead of Lambda shuttles. Just some thoughts. But, Dang Farseer! All of these models and detailing look fantastic!

Description

Slightly bigger than the stock version and like the Lambda-class, will maneuver more like a heavy fighter than a frigate in-game. Although, its turning will be abysmal and it has no rear-facing guns like the Lambda so don't expect it to actually win any fights!
