An expansion/overhaul mod of epic proportions, with entirely rebalanced gameplay, expanded factions, new gametypes, graphical overhauls, and five new factions; stealth-based Confederate Revolutionaries, tower defense-inspired Atomic Kingdom of China, economy-focused Mediterranean Syndicate, DotA-esque Order of the Talon and spammy Electrical Protectorate.
The Heisenburg Assault Copter is an extremely powerful T3 air unit available from the airfield. The Heisenburg's Quark Infection missiles subject their target to damage similar to a Terror Drone infection, while the craft can make use of it's most predominate feature to deliver this attack; when moving, the Heisenburg is completely immune to being struck by enemy fire, taking absolutely no damage. By activating Superstring mode, the Heisenburg gains rapidly regenerating health and a massive armour boost, allowing it to absorb enemy fire as a distraction.
Cool ;D
did you mean heisenberg?
with what programn did you the render?
All the recent renders were done using 3DS Max's default renderer.
So where is the back rotator?
The cryocopter doesn't have a traditional back rotor either. I don't think you can see it, but there is a small thruster at the back to generate forward momentum and Allied science is advanced enough to compensate for the torque effect the rotors have on the craft.
Here is the cryocopter's back rotator:
Alarmstuferot3.de
Traditional back rotors are perpendicular to the main ones. This is to prevent the torque (twisting effect caused by the rotation of the top rotors) from tipping the helicopter over: Globalsecurity.org , Hittaleksaker.se . The way the cryocopter has its rotor placed would be for thrust and not torque compensation.
Isn't making it invulnerable while moving making it completely unbalanced? A semi-decent player could hit, kite and destroy armies while being completely untouched. Fire a missile, infect, and just MOVE to completely negate any anti-air. The fact that it can heal itself makes it even harder to destroy.
Even if it had weak armor and was easy to destroy while it was firing (which I presume it has to be still to do so), an allied player with a group of these could pose a very serious threat that couldn't be destroyed until as and when the allied player decides to attack.
So, just out of curiosity, exactly what are the counters to this unit? Just based on its description, it looks pretty much unbeatable.
Instead of invulnerability, maybe a shield that recharges as it moves?
I'm asking because I would prefer this mod to be a balanced one, and i'm not too particular to units that when they appear give a player an overwhelming , uncounterable advantage.
Quite simply, a few things. First of all, when I say low armour, I really mean it. It'll have on a second under enemy fire before it falls. Secondly, it cannot fire on the move; it must stop a second before any missiles fly. Finally, it does no direct damage; it specifically is good only at harassing enemy vehicles, and it cannot harm infantry or buildings. It is extremely, extremely good at a very limited role, which is delaying and harassing enemy vehicles.
Then this seems to be an ok T3 unit :) so long as people dont spam this and other aircraft else the only thing to kill them will be infantry -.-
well just have to see till beta comes out and we get "OMGZ THIZ IS OVERPOWERZ!"
Won't this unit end up becoming the perfect scout? If the copter was set to patrol an enemy base, it could just fly around in circles and keep tabs on everything the enemy is doing.
Perhaps you should just make it extremely heavy armor while moving, but not invincible.
Of course, it'll be excellent in such a role. However, by T3 most sides will have scouting units of similar prowess. In addition, it's a pretty expensive scout (likely around 2000) and some forms of damage may still effect the vehicle.
In superstring mode, it shouldn't be able to attack, yes?
Correct, it cannot attack.
a note on the model- doesnt the game engine allow us to use a single plane for teh rotor and then use alpha maps for opacity to add rotors? that woudl lower the performance hit of these units drastically
Yes, it does. These rotors are for show.
Also is it even capable of moving while in superstring mode..?
No, it's stuck immobile.
