In a new version v.1.0:
A "Honey" episode has included. An episode's source code has been rewritten to be compatible with the mod and all its features. The HD Textures, lighting files and another stuff was created. You can see a difference between vanilla and HD textures on following screenshots.
Since the Honey is very short episode (two maps only) I decided to integrate into it a "Map jam #1" - a community project at Func_Msgboard. The pack features 12 Honey-themed maps of varying sizes. So new "Honey Extended" is a long enough episode with continuous storyline. New background sounds and visual effects have been added, many things have been fixed(ex fixed positions and types of monsters, fixed textures etc).
and few screen of Honey's levels with HD Textures
Despite the fact that mod uses many high-poly models, there are some vanilla low-poly models still stayed. And although these low-poly models have HD skins, they looks too uncouth. I created high-poly versions of these models so now it looks better. Take a look at comparison screenshots.
Download and unzip the archive. Run a "Quake.bat" file to play the initial Quake game. Run "Hipnotic.bat", "Rogue.bat", "DoP.bat", "DoM.bat", "Honey.bat...
Hello, could you tell me:
- does this mod support Abyss Pandemonium?
- Dimension of the machine is very laggy
Awesome mod by the way!
Great Quake mod! I've been using it to play recently after many years of working on HD content of my own for Unreal and UT99. I might even have some skin updates I can send your way for even more optional skins. Is there any way to get particle torches turned on? No matter what setting I mess with, I get the default Quake torches!
Glad to see you like the mod. I like the vanilla model-torches. As I remember I removed the particle torches from the source code, so you can't enable it with any console command or setting.
Were you able to find the source for Dimension of the Past and Dimension of the Machine for your progs?
decompiled
Hello, great mod! however there is a problem regarding the extensions.
new weapons can no longer be selected once the weapon change has been made to either the next or the previous one. is this normal?
I would really like to see your take on the original doom games. I hope it doesn't end up like doom remake 4 though
These remakes are very delicate thing to do.
On one hand, it's necessary to carefully preserve the entire gameplay, architecture and atmosphere. Every place in remake should remind you that you already were here a long time ago.
On other hand, it's necessary the remake has modern graphic technologies, more interior details and other stuff if this makes the game better but doesn't break the original "game spirit".
Combination of these things will give a sense of nostalgia and repeat the great feelings we had when we were young and playing the original Doom.
But, enough to philosophizing :D
Doom remake 4 - a great attempt to revive the Doom.
But devil in details and angular ugly models, slightly another weapons, flaws in animation and some other things do not benefit the remake.
I've played Doom remake 4 for a bit and I think it could turn out to be a great thing after some reworking.
I believe with patience and craftsmanship you could achieve this.
Im rooting for you man. You seriously did good remakes.
Thank you! I'm glad you appreciate my work.
