You are Carl Fox, a US Marine Pilot who was captured in Afghanistan and brought to a Taliban prison camp known as The Pit. You've been down there in solitary confinement for a decade, but tonight you've had enough, you are determined to escape no matter what.

This Mod would be better if you kept the original scripts for the weapons, the glock is inaccurate and shoots very slowly and the shotgun cant double blast also you cant strafe left and right when moving forward.
I was shaken when the Taliban said: "It's turning people into weird, alien, creature things time!" and turned everyone into weird, fleshy, alien, creature things. The moment of all time.
I give it a 6/10
but I want to run over what I liked and what I didn't
pros:
Liked the atmosphere of the map
loved the weapon models
loved the grunt models
cons:
The way zombies/bullsquids/vortigaunts were pretty weird
I more spent trying to break boxes because I didn't know which can be breakable and not
removed the secondary shotgun attack
the pistol fires REALLY slow which makes it the most useless weapon in the whole mod
Happy to see that you're taking criticism on board. I was concerned that my review might come of as a little harsh, but considering this is your first time delving into HL1 modding, it's certainly a lot better than most first attempts I've seen.
I hope you stick with it, either improving on what you have here or going into new projects with the feedback in mind. :D
(Also, bonus points for Helluva Boss avatar, haha)
I thought I might correct you. This is definitely not my first attempt at Half Life modding. It is simply my first released mod. I've been making hl1 mods privately for 4 years but I almost 100% focused on source engine rather than goldsrc. I'm an experienced source engine mapper, but HL1 goldsrc is a far inferior engine to develop for and I have much less experience in it. That being said I'm much better at goldSRC now, still not even nearly as good at it as I am with source, but still better than I was here.
thanks man, im currently going onto new projects, but I am going to make one last update to this mod. unfortunately, I think the combat is pretty screwed, I'll do what I can to fix it, like make the weapons better and move the enemies around, add more cover, etc, but for me to fully fix the map design, I'd have to remake the whole map, which I will one day, but for know, I'll do what I can. I will also fix other issues like the keys, lighting, etc, really any issues that people have.
Besides some issues with custom stuff, lack of path entities and amateurish doors I think this is a decent entry, the level of detail is pretty good. I'm fine with the difficulty and darkness, I like grindy maps a lot, just make sure to talk about that in the description because hl community doesn't really like hard stuff, a little warning in the description would help people have a different approach to the whole thing.
I put AI nodes into the map, but I'm not sure how to compile them. I think I need to use some sort of console command?
They should work without any extra gimmick, maybe there is something else affecting the path finding of enemies. I ll give it a look with Jackhammer later.
I'm still going to take other people's criticism into account, even if you don't mind the grindieness.
