Perfected Doom 3 was started as a simple tweak mod years ago. After realizing that I was still not happy with Doom 3 after making some alterations to weapons and enemy stats I continued to add more to the game. Now Perfected Doom 3 is more then just a tweak mod. It attempts to completely overhaul the entire game with new monsters, rebalanced weapons, rebalanced monster stats, better graphics, new gameplay features and much more. It has been met with great appreciation and acclaim by it's users. This mod will bring many improvements to standard Doom 3 and it's Resurrection of Evil expansion.
This zip file contains another set of patches for both versions of PD3. It contains many small fixes and also adds a bit to some of the features already in PD3. It is an update to the previous 7.0.1 patch that accidentally removed the ROE logos and effects from the main menu for PD3 ROE. Nothing else was added to either version of PD3. This is just a quick fix.
1. To install for non ROE PD3 place the patch file named "PerfectedDoom3v7.0.2_Patch" in the standard PD3 mod folder.
2. To install for PD3 for ROE place the patch file named "PerfectedDoom3v7.0.2_Patch_ROE" in the PD3 ROE mod folder.
That's it. The patch should engage immediately. If any bugs are found please let me know and further patching will be done to correct anything these patches may cause.
Features included in this patch:
Fixed plasmagun liquid flamethrower bug that distorted the player's view.
Fixed rocket launcher magazine bug not removing rockets properly when fired.
Removed the dof on zoom option from the nextgen options menu and permanently disabled it.
Shotgun, Double Barrel Shotgun, and Chaingun have a chance at gibbing smaller demons and zombies at close range.
Gib count has been increased for the gibbing system and bloodsplat count has been doubled.
Added new body parts for Imps and Zombies when gibbed.
Added new gibbing sound for gibbed monsters.
Increased proximity grenade detection radius and damage rates.
Added the ability to pick up proximity grenades that have not exploded yet even if handgrenade ammo is full.
Removed handgrenade in player head bug during cinematics and when in third person view.
* Removing the "grenade in the player's head" bug has brought on some warnings that will pop up in the console when throwing the standard grenades and the cluster bomb grenades. These are only warnings and will not cause any problems. If I can ever figure out how to get rid of these I will update this patch but for now this is as good as it's gonna get right now. At least that stupid grenade doesn't get stuck in the player's head anymore.
