Hi developers,

I just want to give you my feedback from the first playsessions. I have many aspects that are more or less important, so I roughly ordered them by importance.

Positive:

  • Graphics: Brilliant design, 100% custom content, Maps looking very good.
  • UI: The weapon choose-window has a clear layout and is well designed.
  • Map Design: The maps are big and have many different ways to arrive where you want to go.

Negative:

  • Balance: Infact there are two things that currently make Off Limits unenjoyable. First the player's health. You can absorb way too many hits until you kiss the dust. Secondly the capture points. It is unfair to the conqueror when the enemy spawnpoint is where the capture point is. You have just erased all enemies forces and they immediatly respawn infront of you. Until now, I only managed to capture a point when I sneaked up to the enemies capture point and nobody took notice of me.
  • Animations: The characters seem to slide over the floor.
  • Sounds: Especially the shotgun-sound has to be replaced by a new one.
  • Ironsight: At the moment, right-click only means zooming in, not using the actual mechanism of the weapon.
  • Commanding: No "Follow me"-command. Or did I miss it?
  • I shot a barrel with my pumpgun and it just shaked a bit. I expected it to fly through the air because of the firepower of the weapon.
  • The glass roof in ol_russia could break if I shoot it.

Bugs:

  • Sometimes the cars get stuck on stairways.

I agree with all the positive! (haha)

About the hits, so you would rather die like in real life after 1 or 2 impacts? (this would make people die way to fast and it would be even less enjoyable imHo).

About the spawn point, yes when you kill an enemy near his captured spawn point he will respawn right there... that means you are fighting the wrong fight, you need to find the enemy JN and kill him, make THAT spawn point open up. Then attack it..

Animations aren't the best even, we have to do with them what we can, we (Myself and Keats) are NOT animators, we have had animations contributed to us over the years and I cleaned them up as best as I could, so did Keats in code. We are happy with them, they don't look as perfect as other 20 team mods (where we are 2) + we are not a retail game either, we simply don't have the resources. I hope the fun game play will make you forget the lesser quality animations, I for one don't see that they are bad anymore, I just kill them asap so I don't see those bad animations for too long! hah

ironsights: no...

this is true, but that's the source physics... I can't fix those, also, I might have to remove most physical objects anyway as they bite too much network traffic from our servers (needs to be looked in to)

what glass rooftop in Russia? did you mean (couldn't)? because no, exterior glass doesn't break, it doesn't need to either, you shoot enemies when playing the game, not the ceiling.

about the bug: I found a few (2) places where cars could get stuck, and I will fix those on the next update. Getting stuck on stairs, that is possible, I'm sure if you drove a real car on stairs it would get stuck as well. Nothing I can do about it.. bottom line, don't drive on stairs unless you really have to ;)
