It's about time we formally announced our new Devblog for those of you that don't follow our twitter or facebook where it's simulcast. Think of it as a place to get your fix when there aren't any major media updates. The blog is open for fans to ask questions, post relevant articles and you know post comment... That sort of thing. I'm excited, but to be honest, they aren't, and said some pretty negative things.
I think it looks great, but I'm a little worried about over-lap. We got BB:S coming out, The Rising coming out, two Zombie MP mods with alike concepts to this one. Of course, you're farther along than BB:S at least, they've stopped and started at least 3 times.
At least in this video, it seems really easy to run by the ZOmbies lol. They don't appear to be a threat what so ever at any point, but I assume that's due to it being an early beta video.

There isn't any competition. By that I mean the mod community will not decide to play only one mod. That's just silly. The more mods the better. Something for everyone to enjoy.
About bb:s we never stopped 3 times and we are not going to be a enemie to no more room in hell, for me its a fuc... great mod but is like Duke nukem forever. im one of the dev of BB:s and our gameplay is extremely different to no more room in hell. i just want all of lucky for these guys to they can just end this mod.
Yes you guys did stop 3 times, don't lie lol, nothing to be embarrassed about. I've been a member of the BB forums since 2004 and played BB since release, and there have been multiple attempts, there was even a beta release in 2006, then saying it was dead, no one was working on it, then in 2008 they talked about rebooting it, for only it to shut down in 2009, then in later 2010 / early 2011, you're talking about making it again, but now it's actually showing progress. Trust me, I've followed BB:S closely.
And yes, more mods is good, but I'm saying when you've got so many mods with what looks to be similar gameplay releasing in probably the same time stretch, it will split the already thin community further. Lots of awesome Source mods these days...yet no players...seems they only play mods that make it on Steam Works.

It hasn't updated in two months. ONLY Two months. Why do people see no updates for such a short period of time = dead. I mean christ...NMRiH suffers from one, if not the longest development time for a Source mod, even longer than Black Mesa, and it's never been 'totally' dead. :P
Wait longer before making that judgment Trolley.. like. over a year or so.
I hate you for releasing an awesome teaser when I can't partake in it. I hope all these issues get sorted out and the mod gets released. Good luck.

Inzaneflea when he saved NMRiH in the early stages. But honestly no need, was just a jab :) Hell you have half my PT team so it's like i'm PTing (heh just kidding, all are very tight lipped even Riley was surprised that I knew about this video until I mentioned you posted it).

Besides helping with some trouble early on in NMRiH it's only been ZP:S for me. Mkilbride you rarely make sense heh.
It rarely makes sense why I get negatively voted. And yeah, I remember you had back ups of some files they lost, which you gave to them and helped em along.
Just every time a Zombie mod pops up, I usually see a post from you, and one of the devs commenting on it. Perhaps you yourself don't realize your celebrity in the Zombie Game community. :P

Looking awesome, great atmosphere, I like that the zombies don't just go running after you when they see you, maybe you could make them go near souunds like shooting, car alarms and so, make em run when they get ****** lol. Top notch work guys.
Zombies are already attracted to noise like talking, shooting, etc.
You know what? This would be soooooo awesome, if you had the L4D2-like zombies. The gore effects are outstanding, and after I played L4D2 I'm always a little bit ****** of when I play HL2 (mods), because this looks outdated no matter how good the rest is.
I really hope someday VALVe releases the source to modders...

just run through the entire level avoiding slowmo dumbs and there's never more than a couple at the same time.
Better make them more able to notice the player cause he don't smell or behave like one of them or something. then bigger amounts of zombies and I'd prefer if they could run at you aswell.
I'm not sure, but I feel as if that's been done before by some other game and on the Source engine, no less... But I can't for the life of me remember what it was called...

Well, I was going to ask if the world REALLY needed another zombie mod/game...
But after seeing someone finally presenting the idea of a zombie apocalypse in a semi realistic fashion (kinda like The Walking Dead), I'll have to say hell yeah!

Horror games aren't about the endless shooting gallery of L4D where you blow away 20 zombies a second and don't even think twice about it. NMRIH is about horror, sure L4D has it's place and is fun with friends but please don't expect every zombie game to throw horror and tension out of the window where the sake of mindless arcade style fun for the zombies are simply moving targets on your way from point A to B.
On a more sirious note, he even stated that many die. As you see, a few misclicks and you land an infection, causing you to loose.
I would say you should go cry in a corner and play Left 4 Dead, because this is a zombie game with the original awesome zombie. Slow, dumb as **** but the best target ever. <3
Excellent. Only qualms are the HL2 textures (I hate them so) and the later rifle sound effects were strange. Otherwise it looked pretty polished.
I have some questions tho; will every level start out with that "Safe Room" like area? And does your flashlight ever run out? Or is it like HL2, where it'll recharge?

Holy God, this mod will probably be the best zombie mod/game ever! I love the fact of zombies killing you easily (or infecting), you have limited ammo so you have to always pay attention and spend ammo when really needed. Wow this looks perfect! One of the main problems I could see is related to animations which aren't good, but as you said, they are WIP.
By the way, great job with ambient sounds and zombie sounds, I just think you need to rework some weapon sounds and then the game should be even better. It seems great so far.

it's such a shame that most if not all zombie mods are MP, and i only play SP, (will there be a SP mode maybe in the future?)
other then that i really do like how it looks till now, of course are the zombie animations not all that great yet, but as you said in the video is this still WIP and are you working on that and some other issues. what i really liked was the realistic way of loading weapons, it went slow, like it does in the real world, and not adding 6 or 8 bullets in 0,000001 sec. this does make it all the more scarier!
one negative point on my site, but this is just personal. and that is that to me it does sound that the amb sounds (street sounds) are a bit to loud, it does sound louder as shooting a weapon.

The pistol looks kinda wierd... Mabey you could change the way he holds it? and take off the little loop over the front sight on the ruger to make it like its real life counterpart please.
Yeah I modeled the Ruger 10/22 after my personal one, which has a different front aperture than a standard Ruger 10/22... I will probably change it to the standard one, though.
Looking forward to it but TBH i dont know why games like this call themselves horror, no zombie game like this is a horror because they practically arent scary, its a lot grimmer than most zombie games i give you that but it isnt scary as of now.
