My custom story offers you alot of horror, and some puzzles. You play as Richard and you are investigating a big mansion and what happened to its owners. Custom story takes about 15-50minutes to finish. This is my second custom story. It took alot of time. There are 7 maps.
It's a really decent custom story! I liked it a lot! Lots of puzzles(though rather easy ones), decent monster encounters and many levels and rooms to explore. I rate it 9/10 though I'd have given it a 10/10 if there wasn't a serious bug I encountered right after the capture event.
It's a very decent custom story. Fairly designed, good gameplay and simple storyline but not bad at all! Not much of originality, but done in a good way.
This CS was actually good, I would have given it higher then an 8 but the reason I just gave it an 8 cause it was a good CS up till the end. When he said he needs to get out of this castle, I notice there was just plain old stone floor, no walls, nothing, nowhere to go but to jump off the game, that seems like a bug, is that suppose to happen? It needs fixing at the end.
I enjoyed it. It made me feel uneasy and the last puzzle with the Suitor was really cool as well. I always enjoy that kind of puzzles with monsters patrolling the whole place :D
However, the story wasn't presented in a good way. Rather, there was barely any story. Just a few notes about the previous owners torturing people and selling part of the mansion and another note about how the woman turned into a monster. Who was this stranger responsible for turning the woman into a monster? Why were people tortured here?
I also must say I really enjoyed the structure of the maps. It really felt like a mansion. The Oil distribution was also good (many people tend to mess up here by giving either too much or too little)
Positives:
- Creativity
- Nice level design
- Variation of quests
- Not a cliche story
- Suitor scared the crap out of me
- Voice acting (almost nothing but it's still voice acting)
Negatives:
- Lack of story
- Lack of details
- The ending
- Chemical quest
- Horrible grammar
Conclusion:
The story is intresting, but feels unfinished. I still don't know who the intruder were, what happened to the husband, the people involved with the torture and what purpose the Brute served. The grunt had a reason to spawn as well as the suitor. The Brute on the other hand only spawned once and served no purpose at all in my opinion.
Ending felt rushed and looks like a bad attempt to copy the original "Daniel/Revench" ending from the original game. There's also no music at the end.
In short, it's a good start, but the story feels unfinished and not well made.

You have very few details such as particles, sound effects etc. And the fountain in the underground castle part doesn't have a "liquid" under it, so it doesn't sound like you are jumping in the water.

The chemical quest worked great, but how does the character know which chemicals he need to find when all the note says is "You need 4 chemicals". What chemicals? ^^
When I activated it, I ran to a room quite far away from the explosion. Still got badly injured. Seriously? -.-

Aside from all that, I really enjoyed it! You did a great job with it, and the suitor scared the crap out of me!
