Lunar Descent is an action-adventure game, set on the Xterrier Lunar Colony. It mixes brutal combat, exploration and resource scavenging. To stay alive, players must be careful when dealing with enemies and ever mindful of their limited supplies.

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably played one of my Dissolution-universe mods already, and some of you will have played a few. This is a short post to let you know about what will be the fourth entry to the quasi-series – The Kepler Experiment.

The Kepler Experiment, as Lunar Descent and The Apocalypse of Eden did before it, will expand on the world built in Dissolution, allowing you to explore another Xterrier-owned location, this time the research vessel XSS Kepler.

The Kepler Experiment is going to be a free, fully stand-alone game, built using the Godot Engine, but with many of the mechanics present in my previous titles. Like them, it will focus on environment design, story telling and adventure (collect items to survive and progress) gameplay.

It is thematically and stylistically similar to The Apocalypse of Eden, but unlike Apocalypse it will be a survival-horror, with some light, but deadly, action, rather than the avoid-the-enemy horror Apocalypse utilised. As with previous titles, there will be audio logs and readable notes, to allow those interested to dig deep into the game’s backstory.

If you’re interested, you can follow the game on ModDB / IndieDB, where I will keep you posted with progress.
