The current goal of the Expanded Galaxy Project is to expand upon both games by adding all planets not present in both games and vice-versa through a port of the first game to the second games engine.

KotOR2 - Expanded Galaxy & Free Roam

Adding a storyline that passes through Coruscant and all of the planets from the first game.
Improving upon the second game and fixing as many bugs as possible.

After completing the game it now warps the player back to the Ebon Hawk and allows the player to continue exploring the galaxy, I have also added a new set of all levels duplicated that could be used to construct a sequel in the far future.

KotOR1 - Port / Add-On

A complete port of the first game to the second games engine.

UPDATE : 8 Files In order for installing both in the following order for Expanded Galaxy then the Addon, TSLRCM, M478EP and Coruscant mods are also required, I hope to combine as much as possible into a single installer in the future.

There is also a readme detailing how to copy files across from K1 to K2 in order to get certain features working properly.

Eventually an an installer and launcher will handle all of this.

Please join the Discord and get involved, I will soon make a new release for both projects once they are both a bit more complete.

All other versions of the project have been archived for future reference.

0.9.0 Cleans up the file structure for both mods and removes some excess / duplicate files.

Currently testing the project using a fresh install of the second and first games and the upcoming 0.9.0 release which I am currently testing.

Sorry for any in-convenience.

Playing kotor 1 with the mechanics of kotor 2 would be incredible, thank you for working on this.

You're welcome, it started out as a bit of fun more than anything so it's quite lucky that it got this far!

Hey that's the beauty of passion projects. I'm sure you're well aware of this, but don't let others start doing deadlines for you cause that leads you down the slippery slope of burnout and it stops being fun. Been there plenty of times with mods of my own.

Definitely and it's pretty much just me actively working on this so there will be no deadlines, I have generally been enjoying working on the project by playing the game and finding bugs during my playthroughs, though it does get a bit repetitive playing K1 & K2 over and over again, I was looking to RoR & TJM for inspiration when I decided to come up with templates so that users could run them all under the same installation, I also plan to make it so that the GUIs and different species can be used in all four mods.

I also enjoy peoples input and talking about both kotor games and what can be done with them, I have also written a few tutorials in the hopes of getting others into modding the kotor games.

Feel free to check out the Discord to get involved in discussion about the project and offer ideas or input as well as to find out more.

I can't see the download option for 0.9.0. Is it going to be released soon?

0.9.0 is currently only available via my google drive link that I posted on to the Discord channel, personally I would suggest waiting until around 1.0.0 to get a full / enjoyable experience from either the Port or Expanded Galaxy itself.

Does this mean that you're close to a 1.0.0 release?

What is the 1.0.0 version going to look like, for the expanded galaxy and port?

Will the port be fully functional and is it going to be both K2 in K1, and K1 in K2 or just K1 in K2?

Are you going to release what you already have with free roam for the expanded galaxy, all simply better adjusted and made, or will it have more added than before?

Will it come with the launcher, and what will the launcher look like?

I imagine it would have options to download the port and the EG separately, while having Revan's Eternal Empire and Exile's Expanded Galaxy separated. As would the ports do the same.

Is the xbox version started, how far along is it, if you did start it?

How will the install for the xbox version work if you're that far along?

Both K1 & K2 will be able to run under the same installation.

But will require the user to install a small patch each time to swap between K1 or K2 ( or this will be handled by a launcher eventually )

The Port will be fully functional / currently plays up to the Leviathan with very few problems.

Expanded Galaxy still has a long way to go, lots of small fixes and a lot more work in the way of story implementation and quest building.

What the launcher will look like : no idea at the moment, I am thinking a simple launcher perhaps mirroring the original K1/K2 launchers with a different options menu filled with tickboxes and drop downs that change the games setup.

They will be available separately yes.

I haven't even modded the two xboxes I purchased yet, so that is quite a way off, but I have had a good look at the structure of the xbox version and believe I can make it happen, but it won't be worth working on until both projects are fully complete, chances are I will end up working on it early to see how plausible it even is, as I understand it people have had trouble getting custom modules working on the xbox before but I believe I have identified what needs to be done in order to make that work. As for how the xbox version will be installed, I have no idea yet, I was either going to modify the K1 DLC into a K2 DLC / Installer, or make it a manual operation for the user to complete.

As for how close I am to a 1.0.0 release of the port, quite close but it may also be a while. I have not long had three teeth out and have been taking a bit of a break from the project, though I am easing myself back into it now.

1.0.0 for Expanded Galaxy will hopefully contain at least the starter bonus quests and some more fixes throughout the main game, but it will be far from fully complete I think.

Unfortunately for both projects I got a little carried away with what was possible, but I am happy with how it has turned out so far and plan to continue both projects to completion.

Sorry for not answering your questions in the correct order.

In short, there is still a lot of work to do and for the most part it is just me working on this project. Or has been up until recently, somebody has provided some great help with textures/artwork and I am hoping that continues with the project.

I also recieved some assistance from another user in converting some data types from K1 to K2.

And in general. None of this would have been possible if it weren't for the outstanding work of the many great programmers that created the tools that made this possible.

Also have one dedicated tester that joined a little while back which I am thankful for, now it's just time for me to get on and make more updates for them and others to test.

I am always around on the Discord if anybody wants to talk to me about the project or get help with installation of the current versions which are primarily still focused at testing.

Hopefully that answers your questions and includes a little extra detail for those interested.

For anyone wondering the KotOR port is more like 75% complete, but that is in terms of everything being in place, I made a low estimate of 25% because there are still many scripts to fix, but each and every level is ported, it just cannot be played past Taris without warping/cheating yet.

This mod is a KOTOR fans dream come true, thank you for all of your hard work!! While Silveredge9 is no longer in the modding scene, porting the Brotherhood of Shadow Solomons Revenge to TSL i think is perfectly fine, I run the BOS Page on Nexus and give it my approval. Just be sure to credit Silveredge9

Thank you for the heads up and kind words, it is my hope that in the future I will also port BoS:SR so I have been trying to contact Silveredge9 or somebody who can.

I will however be focused on fixing the main game and porting main game fixes at first, but after that I will attempt to port and integrate BoS:SR as well.
