Need your opinion 14 (Zone Shatter) Ended It time to clean up some mess I left in my last unannounced vacation~ So after some tests I assumed it will be for the best if we take Choice No.2 (Change it back but at least make it tiny bit more stronger so it will feel different from the normal)

It time to clean up some mess I left in my last unannounced vacation~

So after some tests I assumed it will be for the best if we take Choice No.2 (Change it back but at least make it tiny bit more stronger so it will feel different from the normal)

So~

The Zone Shatter will move back to be tier 2 unit but with few changes like:


•Zone Shatterer changed back to how it was in patch 1.02 but with few small chances for balance reasons,
•Zone Shatterer moved to tier 2 again and required Command post in order to be build,
•Damage decreased to 1200, Health points decreased to 3400 instead of 10000,
•it's Overload Sweep ability damage decreased to 2500 damage instead of 3000,
•It's attacking radius increased from 350 to 375, Movement speed change back to 60,
•Cost now decreased to 1600 and build cost to 16 seconds,
•Zone Shatterer can use Air Transport ability again, and it's unit description changed a bit.

Also:


Enemy AI now should use the Zone Shatterer's Overload Sweep ability better.


Fixed Zone Shatterer's Overload Sweep ability range bug and improved it's behavior.


Fixed a bug that caused Shatterer and Zone Shatterer to not show some effects when being used by none GDI's faction.


You may have notice that despite my claim about fixing the Overlord sweep range bug the Shatter still sometimes moves to the target before shooting, it appears the issue was more persistence than I thought so I tweak it a bit more,

That was when I notice something, since the Zone shatter's ability set to attack Location rather than Target/Object, the Shatter will sometime moves to the place we pressed with the cursor, why you ask?
Cause the game see it as Location and not detect our target as object,

that mean that if we press on the wrong spot of the unit/structure, the Zone shatter may or may not move a bit closer before attacking it's target.


(In order words, press on the edge of a structure with your ability cursor and your shatter will shoot right away, press on the "Middle" of the structure and the shatter will move a bit forward to the target before attacking it, Reason: cause the ability set to detect location and ignore any object that on the way).


So after figuring that out the question that remain is if you think it be better to change the ability to attack objects Only rather than locations?


I tweaked it enough to work fine but in random times the Zone shatter may still Move to the target depend on how you pressed it,


But changing the overlord sweep ability to be pressable on targets only will make it unusable on anything else aside targets!

And that can kill creation tactics or real time reactions you may were used to have in your match...


Setting it to attack targets mostly likely will also let the Shatter chase it's target too.
