Kane's Wrath Unofficial Big Bang Patch 1.04 is a mod that adds few new things and tries to balances the game a bit more from my and the community ideas while at the same time also tries to save the most import ingredient at bay: The "fun".
So after some hours of works (attaching the model to the bones, reskining, making the code, adding all of the guns antenna and other objects to one model, and etc) I finally have the cinematic Zone troopers ready to role :D (you can see how it originally looked up close here

Now the question is.. should I replace the normal ZT model with them? should I keep them as easter egg?
I think I have idea as for what I can do with the ZT without the mask and MG though :)
There's really no point in both tbh so use the one you like the most out of the two. Unless the one has negative impacts on performance that is.
If I may put a couple of ideas forward: Maybe have them as the GDI/ZOCOM Commando? Or have them as the first stage of the regular ZT squad, with the canopy as an upgrade which then makes them immune to Tiberium? But of course that last idea one doesn't take their weaponry into account.
Maybe I should just mix them both in the same squad.
As for the ones with the helmet, I make them as different units ofc, EA first made the ZT with normal rifleman's gun but with
grenade launcher upgrade and armor upgrade (the mask), but they eventually went with the anti tank badass super soldier attitude so they just remade him.
I had couple ideas for them, one was that they may be ZOCOM's or ST's commandos but I like how the vanilla game didn't just repeat the commando theme and just did it for the Scrin sub faction (only BH had some small differences for their commando), and it will look less nice if he can't crouch for placing bombs and such so I was less hype about it,
Other idea I had was for them to be the tier 1 rifle man of ST or Zocom, but I don't think they fit for tier 1 role (look too eliteish for the role of a meatshield), and they don't have the armor upgrade ZOCOM have (I can add it through) nor the dig in ability the normal rifle mans have which is disadvantage.
Making them be some new soldier upgrade for the normal ZT squad (similar to Nod's confessor) made less sense too when you consider they don't have helmet (they'll be open for radiation while the other members won't...) so I don't think it will fit either (and adding this alpha zone trooper in any other squad as upgrade will take nod's uniqueness with this kind of upgrades),
and as for tier 2-3 inf well... I don't have a role for them atm, I originally wanted Them to be the steel troopers ST have but now I already imported the TT's ZT and they more fit for the role due to their model's size.
The only idea I had left was to make them as a special power for GDI, they won't have upgrades and can't detect steal at all but can shoots grenades (maybe as ability) in small numbers from their MG (since GDI don't have SP that call for Grenaders it could be nice to call them to clean structures aside from being stronger anti inf in general)
I also had idea where you could give the very same zone trooper an ability to be masked and unmasked, like without mask it switch to MG and have more range but less armor and can be effected by tibirium, while with mask it switch to rail gun and have more armor but less range and ofc not got effcted from radiation, but that too much work for unneeded role (though it is very cool xP)
I prefer the masked one, it's more realistic in real combat. Imagine a super elite soldier without a helmet, one shot to the head or face it's over.
When it comes to the exposed head version, perhaps their head could be replaced with one of the Tiberium Field Suit helmets. As for their use, well that'd be up to you.
id say make the helmeted ones a "heavy rifle squad" with the alpha helmet/canopy models at random
