Been absolutely loving this TC. Level design is on point if a little linear, but doesn't take away from the experience; it's a nice middle-ground between "FPS" and "platformer".
There seems to be a bug however, where upon completing the last level of EP3, it takes you straight to MAP31 and the rest of the vanilla Doom 2 levels, meaning I have to start EP4 with just the un-powered-up Blaster.
If I had any criticisms, I feel like the boss battles could have be a little more challenging than simply "shoot at it until it dies", especially in the later levels once you've gotten all the upgrades: I was able to wail on them all with the Seeker and beat each one in just a few seconds without taking any damage — I had far more trouble with the lower-tier enemies (though I did start on the highest skill).
Overall though, really enjoyed playing this. In a way, it feels like the "Jazz 3" we never got.
Thanks for the feedback. My apologies for the late response, been busy with life. When it comes to map design, I'm slowly getting comfortable with the flow of things, especially how I can picture what it would be like in Jazz Jackrabbit's eyes.
As for boss's, my apologies on how easy they can be. Definitely is something I have to look over, cause when it comes to attacks, even in the original games, they were a pushover 😆
Also, I apologize about the vanilla maps, most likely was an overlooked code in the mapinfo.
All in all, glad you enjoyed the experience. Episode 5 is close to completion and Episode 6 is in the works.
Liked this TC, hated the vanilla Doom 2 levels at the end of EP3 though, stopped playing there and started EP4 fresh.
My apologies on the vanilla maps, most likely was something coded wrong in the mapinfo. Episode 5 is close to completion and we'll get that fixed. For the most part, glad you enjoyed it.
In the level Marbelara, I couldn't get past the gate to the exit whatsoever. There was no switch to open it at all which really frustrated me because it made no sense. So I literally had to do noclip just to get past it which honestly I shouldn't have had to do.
I'll double check it when I get the chance. Sorry for the late response. Life has kept me busy. Could most likely be something that was overlooked.
I gave jazz some fake RAYTRACING
Looks rad 😁
really good
