Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence is a Total Conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2 (A.K.A. BF2). What we aim to achieve with this mod is to immerse the player into the historic wars involving Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, which are the 6-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. The player will be able to play as a common soldier, crewmember, or pilot in these wars. The mod will feature historically accurate equipment such as the famous Russian AK-47, the fearsome SO-4050 bomber, the menacing IS3 and M48 tanks, and much, much more. Also, the maps will recreate actual battles that happened in these wars, to complete a historically-accurate and immersive modification. IDF:FFI is also a member of the acclaimed cooperative gaming studio Black Sand Studios.
Here is our AMX-13 light tank, used by both the IDF and the French. This will not be in our next release since we are focusing only on the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
We do have even more releases planned and the AMX-13 will be one of the items we add. The excellent model and texture were made my our newest member Illness88. We know have a small but very talented team so expect to see more great content from them in the future! Also more to come on the AMX-13 and its variants.
Beautifull work as usual !
Also by the French? Does this mean we get the Suez Canal Crisis in future? :D Amazing model and texture
Thanks guys. In a future release we want to add British and French forces that invaded Egypt in 1956! We are really excited about it and have some really neat ideas for that release.
That sounds awsome
So will this work like your everyday tank, or will it actually work (sorta) like an oscalating turret?
Will it have an incredible firerate for 12 rounds and a slow reload?
Also the KWK 42 derative, yey!
Yeah the AMX will defiantly have those features. I forgot about the 12 rounds and the auto loader. I like that idea, as long as it is not to over powering in game.
The earlier AMX's will have the high velocity 75 mm and the later models like the one shown here will have the medium velocity 90mm.
Wasn't aware that the Israeli AMX 13s got fitted with 90mm? I thought they were deemed to lightly armoured for Israel to field and because of that sold off to Singapore after the six days war?
The 75 should however not be "OP" seing as how D10T, D25, 2A20, L7 and what not outpace it by miles + that platforms of such are also vastly superior in the armor department. AMX 13s armor consist mostly of paint.
Perhaps it's marginally better than a PT 76 and T 34-85, but IRL it's all about who hits first in that fight anyway.
