Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence is a Total Conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2 (A.K.A. BF2). What we aim to achieve with this mod is to immerse the player into the historic wars involving Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, which are the 6-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. The player will be able to play as a common soldier, crewmember, or pilot in these wars. The mod will feature historically accurate equipment such as the famous Russian AK-47, the fearsome SO-4050 bomber, the menacing IS3 and M48 tanks, and much, much more. Also, the maps will recreate actual battles that happened in these wars, to complete a historically-accurate and immersive modification. IDF:FFI is also a member of the acclaimed cooperative gaming studio Black Sand Studios.
This mod is out to a great start! Love the content so far. Big fan of the historical mods, way too many “modern combat” mods out there. Obviously a lot of room for improvement, but what is here so far is really good. The vehicles, especially the tanks are some of the best I have seen I have seen in a BF2 mod outside of FH2 of course (class by themselves). Can’t wait for the Israeli aircraft and some epic air battles. Keep up the good work guys.

I´m no fan of historical mods for BF2 - but your mod is absolutely stunning. All your models are top notch quality, the air vehicles are fantastic with great cockpits, the weapons look gorgeous and same for land vehicles, too. Even the ships are impressive (although, as I said, I´m not a fan of vintage equipment and vehicles). This is also the first version of your mod that has an enjoyable AI - finally! Could be a little less tough, though. What´s again annoying: PR mod weapon animations! I really don´t like waiting an half an hour, until my hand weapon is finally ready to shoot (I´m exaggerating, of course) - I think it´s better to have more arcade animations like most mods have - with quick reload and deploy animations. I also don´t like PR´s medic stuff - it´s all way too slow for a fast shooter game, especially when playing against quick bots. My criticism may sound nitpicking, but for me, it´s essential for having either an enjoyable gameplay or an annoying gameplay, despite all those gorgeous models and graphics. But I´m talking about singleplayer only-- multiplayer might be a different thing. Still, thanks a lot for your excellent work on your latest beta V 0.20 - you guys are definitely first class developers and you really keep our beloved BF2 alive!!! Great job, THANK YOU!!!

Great mod that everybody should take the time to play. Has some classic 20th century tanks that are really amazing. Plus they have the Mig-15, so I am pretty happy with that! XD
It's a very rare mod these days, developers are still working hard on it, bringing us a new and fresh settings. These 1960s years have seen very little attention. It's interesting to play with mixture of new and old era vehicles on one map.

Good mapwork and AI in SP mode; the AI go into positions of defense around capture points as well as going forward, which i haven't noticed in other mods. Probably the only bf2 mod still going, i hope it continues!
