Half-Life Evacuation Point is a mod for Half-Life (1998). You are Gus Gamelton. A member of Elevator Maintenance Team at Black Mesa Research Facilty.

The mod doesn't contain a lot of plot behind it, the main reson of it to exist is to give the player a feeling of visiting Black Mesa like for the first time.

Features:

  • A whole new campaign of 24 maps build from ground-up all by myself
  • Completely new visual style, different from the original
  • Better quality models and textures
  • Utilising of Xash3D Engine, which has nicer visuals and more powerful scripting system.

I consider this thingy a starting point on my way!

Sorry, but the mirrors don't work - the lasers are going trough them. Has someone the same problem?

Mirrors are the feature of XashXT (coding base of the mod), so they must work, if other things are working... If maybe only it's hardware support problem, but I have no idea what it has to be exactly (maybe something with OpenGL support, but I doubt about this). By the way, you have to start your game with xash.exe. Also, as possible fix, I suggest to load your game from earlier game save (before you entered the map with mirrors). Then after changing a level things hopefully will work as intended.

Почти через год наконец-то дошли руки поиграть в мод. Мод в целом запоминающийся, однако запоминаются не только интересные события, происходящие по ходу игры, но и куча косяков, в которых мод увяз по уши. Начиная с того, как сделана сборка мода (много лишнего навалено в кучу, даже экзешника положено три вместо одного, не говоря о каше в папках), и заканчивая различными непродуманностями и нелепостями в дизайне уровней практически на любой из карт. Также были замечены, вероятно, некоторые баги самого Ксаш-мода, взятого за основу, но, думаю, при старательном подходе и их можно было бы победить. Конечно же, здесь и страшный бич мапперов, борящихся за "реалистичность" - темнота. Почему-то у многих авторов желание сделать жутковатую атмосферу в своём моде постоянно сваливается в стремление основную часть игры перенести в крайне тёмные локации. Но большинству игроков такое не нравится, т. к. это реально утомляет человека, постоянно пытающегося что-то разглядеть при тусклом свете фонарика, который ещё и разряжается. В общем, поставил оценку 8, но это прямо с огромной натяжкой, в надежде, что, возможно, когда-то появится исправленная версия мода, в которой основная часть хотя бы косяков будет устранена. Честно говоря, ощущение, что геймплей мода почти не тестировался, настолько явные проблемы местами всплывают. В общем, оценка практически как за исправленную версию. В принципе, мог бы поспособствовать, если вдруг желание исправить проблемы имеется. Ведь с одной стороны, радует довольно плотный маппинг, идеи и использование Ксаша, с его новыми фичами, с другой стороны, такие сырые сборки и портят у людей впечатление не только о самом моде, но и об использованном движке.

I was enjoying myself but i seem to get stuck
1.picture blind in canteen when i walked past it.
2.the platform lift after i activated it.
there is more before. Frustrating i just gave up. Shame.

I can not get the scientist to open the door to the transit system right after the security guard kills the big monster no matter what I do.

Not bad! Taking some obvious inspiration from Echoes, if not outright ripping whole scenes off at others.

It's got some pretty damn thick atmosphere at times and is probably one of the darkest Half-Life mods I've played outside of the Original Afraid of Monsters.

Level design lacks in some area's and the enemy placement if pretty rough, not too keen on fighting alien grunts with such a limited arsenal so early into the mod!

Not bad for your first mod, though! I hope you make more in the future!
