This is Guard Duty. Put your feet in the shoes of Barney Calhoun, a security guard at the Black Mesa Research Facility who has no idea that the next few hours are going to change his life forever. Re-live the exciting adventure of Blue Shift, now re-created in the award winning Source engine.
Security Guard concept created by Heimdall.
He looks confused...
I bet he is looking at the body of zombie.
"Ehhhhh, grody"
He's not confused. you can tell from his face that he's thinking this sort of thoughts:
"but what -is- the real meaning of Life? Could our only raison d'etre be just to spread our genes, to be mere vessels? ...A depressing prospect, but as much as i'd like to think that there is some grand plan for humanity, such thoughts seem like a result of our usual megalomania. Still, some philosophers claim tha... claim that...
...Actually, i'm kinda hungry. what was i thinking about again?"
Only remember the microwave is busted and isn't usable anymore after he want to warm up his lunch box with it.
looks like he's having a bad hangover
another nice concept
This guy needs to take a nap :|
It's hard to nap when you're about to get devastated by headcrabs, zombies, the army, houndeyes and slaves. Not to mention the likely hood of a bullsquid or grunt wandering in his barracks is always a threat. Sleeping takes a back seat to not getting raped.
I think this concept is extremely well done. Facial expressions aside, he'll be perfect for the job. Fine work Heimdall.
yeah, it seems some people focused on his expression a little bit too much.
look at the design goddammit :D
This man has a high degree of prognathism.
When I 1st saw this guys expression the 1st thought that came to my mine was ...... derp XD you guys should make a model of this guy with that face as an easter egg XD
good concept
I really hope that you'll reintroduce the Otis (Fat Security Guard)into the game.
Now all he needs is a maglite or asp baton to bash up some zombies ;)
He actually looks realistic. That ear-piece makes more sense than just a radio.
The kevlar body armour is realistic compared to the Half-Life and Black Mesa version.
BM Security Guard: How's it going.
