Galactic Annihilation is the unnofficial expansion for Planetary Annihilation Titans. Galactic Annihilation has the goal of making PA into a game closer to its forebears.

Wreckage, absent for the most part from the vanilla game, has been restored. Battlefields may clog up with it, enabling units that can shoot over it to use it as walls and allowing whoever can take control of a wreckage field to boost their economy.

New units have been added and every unit in the vanilla game has been modified to fit inside of a more concrete role.

The result is an experience that far surpasses the vanilla game in every way.

Page Updates Resuming

News

So this page got abandoned by me a few months ago after Uber dropped the Titans expansion and nuked all of my plans. I resumed updates to the mod in late September, but as far as this page goes, nothing happened.

There are three reasons for this:

1. I'm lazy.

2. ModDB was never the best venue for distributing PA mods in the first place. PAMM allows automatic mod installation and updating instead of having to dig through folders and edit text files in order to get mods working, which results in me simply not caring about updating the mod on here. GA got over 1000 downloads on PAMM, while on here it attained only 300.

3. ModDB downloads: As an extension of the previous point, when I first put GA on here I did two things: I firstly told people to download it off of PAMM instead of here, and I secondly posted downloads of two packages, both required and gave instructions on installing. Unfortunately, people didn't read those instructions. The result? The clientside portion of the mod had about 4 times the downloads of the serverside portion of the mod. In other words, about 3 quarters of my downloaders had no idea what they were doing even though I told them what to do.

Why am I coming back?

Because I'm being less lazy.

That being said, please do your self a favor and download PAMM so that you can properly install the mod and update it as needed.

Planetary Annihilation Mod Manager

^^^ Install via PAMM (Recommended) ^^^

Note that the mod does now REQUIRE the Titans expansion pack. You can get this off of the steam store or on the armory for about $13. In addition to preventing the mod from breaking, Titans adds about 25 new units, including five "Titan" experimentals/megabots of better quality than anything included in GA.

Attempting to play the mod without Titans will result in crashes if you try to build or use certain units. You have been warned, so don't do it. Just get Titans.

Please use the above link to install rather than the manual install below.

What happened to all these super bots? They seem like an excellent way to bridge the gap between titans and T2 units, yet we see practically none of them. I would love to utilize those hovering fortresses or massive mechanoid machines of destruction. Are they only for base game PA, part of a separate mod or a cold case? Amphibious factories?

Hey, man! Your mod on the PA Community Mods has bugged Icons. What can I do to fix it? They appear as white with the team colour's outline, makes it very hard to see.

Since the release of the PA Titans expansion PA (Vanilla) has undergone a lot of changes. I believe that Stuart is in the process of updating and redoing the mod for Titans, Not aware if he still plans on supporting PA vanilla in the future though.

When it comes to Server side (or unit mods in general) they dont tend to be compatible with eachother. Recently though stuart has contacted us with the intention of including the OWO mod into Galactic Annihilation, so you may see some of our content in GA in the future. (Not sure how much he is including though since the Titans expansion added a lot of orbital stuff as well).

While I'm not entirely sure why we're suddenly getting 20 bajillion visitors, thank you for stopping by! Please, install using the PAMM tool found on the Planetary Annihillation main page rather than the downloads on this page for ease of use. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to post it here.

Thank you for your support!

I have installed the PAMM and installed your mod through that. However when I load the game up and set up a match it just gets stuck on generating the world. Is there anything you can suggest to fix that or help?

Do you have any other server mods installed?

Virtually all server mods are incompatible with each other.
