it is cool how everything is lit from like a high angle, but is the map finished? The planet looks like uniformly rocky but has no craters. is the surface like dug up completely for minerals?

The map is finished, the riget surface is due to the bump map of the planet texture, which highlights the mountainous terrain.

Description

The third closed beta version has gone live and we're getting ever closer to the upcoming release. It won't include the mega unit phases, but it should include all the AI changes, the new UI, a few new units, and a ton of bugfixes and balance improvements.

Updates from yesterday and todays 15 hour stream:
Hapan nova cruiser HP reduced from 6000 to 4000. Build cost reduced from 7500 to 6500.
Aggressor now has costs 22,5K, up from 8K. Ion and plasma blast cannons have been made untargetable.
Shield points increased from 6K to 15K, HP increased from 7.5K to 15K, pop value increased from 8 to 15, added tractor beam ability and blast ability to all Aggressors.
Mega ion projectile damage increased from 5000 to 7500, blast area added, speed decreased from 20 to 15, blast version of the projectile does double damage over double the area.
Mega plasma projectile blast area doubled, blast version of the plasma projectile does double damage across double the range. The plasma projectile is now capable of clearing out starfighters caught too close to the blast.

Did some bug fixing.
Aggressor class now spawns 1 Arc-175 fighter squadron, with 1 in reserve.
Regular aggressor blast ability now works.
Made the YT 1300 freighter unbuildable.
Recusant II now buildable at level 3 starbase, up from 2.
New unit, Zann Consortium Arc-175. An arc 170 with heavy repeating mass drivers (non shield penetrating for starfighter balance reasons) that deal 66% more damage than the heavy lasers but the projectiles move significantly slower. This means it's worse at dogfighting since the projectiles are likely to miss.
New graphic and firing sound effect for the flak cannons.
Trireme corvette flak cannon reload time decreased from 1.5s to 1.0s.

Updated criminal starbase garrison to be a bit more random as befits a pirate faction. Rebel and Imperial starbase starfighter garrisons have also been redone with a bit more variety.
