UltimateHD v2.1 has been released...

How to install:

!!! If you've downloaded the FULL Package, always remove any previous Installation of UltimateHD first !!!

Unzip the whole 7z-Package to your "DOOM3 BFG Edition" main directory
(usually at ..\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOM 3 BFG Edition)

If everything's gone right there should be a "@UltimateHD" directory in your main directory
( => ..\Steam\steamapps\common\DOOM 3 BFG Edition\@UltimateHD)


How to start the Mod:

run "Doom3 BFG UltimateHD.exe" (This starts RBDoom3BFG.exe with the right parameter)

If you don't want to use the included EXE you can also create a shortcut of "RBDoom3BFG.exe" with the following parameter +set fs_resourceLoadPriority 0 +set fs_game @UltimateHD
Should look like this => "..\RBDoom3BFG.exe +set fs_resourceLoadPriority 0 +set fs_game @UltimateHD"

Important Side Note!

This mod uses a dedicated mod-directory called "@UltimateHD" located in your main "DOOM3 BFG Edition" directory. It doesn't mess around with the default "base" directory and it's files.

This Mod will cause huge loading times between levels and intros due to the "generated" ressources process; depending of your system configuration it could take minutes and may look like the game crashed, but it isn't. It will only occur once at the very first start of a new map.

If you already modified your "base" directory, i recommend to make a clean install of Doom3 BFG before you install this mod, because it might have conflicts with modified "base" files.

Depends on your preferred settings...
It's an insane system hog if you want to play with everything dialed up, so try experimenting with the config file (autoexec.cfg) to test which settings work best for your setup.
I'd recommend selecting safe mode (enabling "exec cfg/gfx_safemode" option in autoexec.cfg file) to avoid graphic glitches and ensure best compatibility/performance.

Im playing the GOG version and for some reason the mod it's on japanese… really weird bug

not a bug... but the gog installation works a bit different.
to fix this open the autoexec.cfg file and add the line:
set sys_lang "english" // valid options are "english" / "french" / "german" / "Italian" / "spanish" / "japanese"

Well - in reply to my own post I seemed to have fixed my problem - copied the latest RBDOOM3 into the doom3 directory and the wireframe glitch is gone.

I have minor glitch with the zombie soldiers (doesn't effect gameplay at all):

I have started mucking around with Doom3 BFG again and decided to try this mod on my old rig (core 2 duo with HD5850).

I switch off soft shadows and play without HDR and the whole thing runs very smooth - love the weapon differences, sound and shoulder flashlight, just brilliant !

Zombie soldiers still have a 'wireframe' weapon model in their hand after the weapon drops to the floor.

Just asking if anything obvious comes to mind as I am not to clued in about these things.

I did merge the ARL helmet mod with this mod - which seems to run flawlessly.

Just putting it out there in case there is an obvious fix (you never know!)

Again thanks for the mod - really is great.

Wow! Modification for BFG edition of doom3? With such improvements? Great! Never expeced that- thought, that this edition of game is unmoddable.
