I messed up last upload, so here's it again! 🤦
Bringing back the PlayStation experience from 1997 to your PC.
Maps, art, sounds, movies and CON files were ripped from the CD-ROM.
Credits: Nukey, Hendricks266, Daedolon, Oasiz and TerminX. Special thanks to Joshua and MusicallyInspired.
Installation:
If the Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition game data is not found, then drop duke3d.grp in the same directory as eduke32.exe.
Tips:
Change the default key for placing a laser tripbomb to "B" (tripBomb).
You may wanna change "D_Bypass_Cutscenes" in cons/defs2.con to "YES".
V1.1 updates:
- Fix the Enforcer spit attack.
- Remove mirrored tiles. It never made much sense to include this feature, plus the code was an ugly hack.
- GAME.CON now has labels for legibility. It should still be functionally identical to the CON used in the PSX port.
- Use an external file for the sound table, instead of a case check in the CON files.
- Misc updates and clean-up.
I hope I didn't messed up anything.
Unfortunately this TC is using an older version of Eduke32, since the most recent versions has issues rendering the "palletized" graphics.
All the FMVs are a little glitchy now, the rest of the game seems fine.
Weird, that's a new problem that I couldn't notice in my computer.
I'm using Zeta Touch, the stable build of Eduke that's in the app. I'm not sure what the correct technical term is, it's not (rendering?) correctly. It's not anything major, just black spots popping up during FMVs.
Thank you for your work btw. This is my favorite way to play Duke.
